Rooney for England??

Now before everyone jumps down my throat hear me out!!
We all kno rooneys ability, and putting aside my club loyalty he can be a great player at utd. However.....
He hasn't really done it for England do far. He hasn't scored at a finals for 8 years!!!!!!! That surprised me!!!
Well beck has done very well so far and big andy looked immense against Sweden! Is it fair to replace one of them with Wayne? The team has worked well(not saying we r amazing) just done the job required! Plus Wayne hasn't kicked a competitive ball in a month so maybe a lil rusty!

If we go through and we play Wayne and he gets rid of the rustiness ready for Spain that cud be beneficial!
Is it unfair to drop players that played well for a man that is rusty just because of who he is!?
It's a hard one to call
All genuine opinions welcome
(no club prejudices pls)

Rooney hasn't really done it for England. By that I meant at all comps and wualifiers and friendlys.

................

Really.

Could have sworn Rooney was Englands top scorer in the Euro wualifiers.

Rooney was probably our worst player last night, but he scored the winner - and thats all that will be said about it.

Ouch, you can't say that, Chicken. You can't criticise Rooney, you'll be labelled an 'idiot' or an 'ABU' - or something like that.

Yeah, i'm waiting for the backlash.

The thing is, all players have an off day, but i just hate it when commentators give excuses like "he's rusty" because he hasn't played for weeks blah blah blah. When, i'm sorry, but you dont need to be 100% fit to control a simple pass or play a 5 yard ball.

In saying this, i'm (a) happy for him to have an off day & score the winner & (b) happy for him to play badly in games that we win.
