Italy World Class?

Genuine queestion here:

In the Italian squad, what other World Class players do they have apart from Balotelli, Di Natale, Pirlo and Buffon?

I don't know enough about Italian football/footballers to think of anymore.

Is there anyone else we need to be looking out for?

It's just as much a matter of having as many "excellent" players as possible as it is of having 2 or 3 "world class" players, it's a matter. Italy consistently produces excellent players all over the pitch and when they're well managed are almost invariably more than the sum of their individual parts.

I don't know the Italian team in depth, but imo Cassano, probably past his best, is still an excellent player. De Rossi. Marchisio. Chiellini. Barzagli. Maggio. Giovinco. Others I'm either forgetting or unaware of. They'd made it into most country's 23 man squads for an international tournament, no problem.

Here i am thinking how italy has a better midfield, strikers and keepers. How people can delude themselves about all things england continues to shock me. Rooney world class? Have you seen di-natalie record or watched the constant class he oozes when he play?

There is no way anyone who watches the game on sunday comes out saying any player on the england side is a better player.

Di Natale and Cassano are fantastic players and much better than Balotelli at the moment. Their movement and intelligence is amazing, and they can work as pivots in a 4-5-1 as well as in a 4-4-2 playing off each other. Cassano's passing is better while Di Natale's finishing is better. Health issues and age however mean they can rarely finish games. Frankly if Cassano didn't have his attitude issues (which marred his unfortunate Spanish stint) and Di Natale was more physically gifted (much quicker), they would be among the most desired players in the world for any team

20 comments and not one person has mentioned the magnificent Pirlo.

the magnificent Pirlo, is, in a word, magnificent.

Balotelli, Di Natale are not world class - this is proof that the term is over used. Pirlo has been one of the best players in the competition. The way the guy controls the game is just outstanding.

Pirlo, Buffon and De Rossi.

Overall they are playing better football than England at the moment.

If you think Di Natale oozes class every minute he is on the pitch you are stupid and you've probably only seen him play 3 minutes. Balotelli is a much better player as is Cassano. Di Natale is a fat lazy oaf.

Maybe that was because the article asked the question "In the Italian squad, what other World Class players do they have apart from Balotelli, Di Natale, Pirlo and Buffon?"

>>Overall they are playing better football than England at the moment.

you could pick 3 players from any team at the tournament and that would apply
