New SPL

I really never thought things would get this bad for Rangers and really dont know what the future holds for our game. I have been following the story on Blogs & twitter written by the "Internet Bampots" for the last 18 months and even as things have unravelled been sceptical that the SFA, SPL or fellow SPL clubs would have the balls not to somehow keep Rangers in the SPL.

Now that this looks to be the case I am unsure about how our season will unravel next year. I am season ticket holder at Parkhead and a MASSIVE part of me buying my ticket is going to theold firm games. If Celtic play on the Saturday i am always watching the Rangers game on the Sunday (until they score that is) hoping for them to drop points. I think with no Rangers in the SPL my enthusiasm may dwindle somehow and many of the Honest Celtic fans i speak to feel the same. I honestly cant see myself sitting down to watch a Motherwell V Dundee Utd game on a Sunday when they are 20 points behind.

By they way im not claiming Rangers/sevco should be treated like a special case and allowed straight back in and they deserve everything they get. Just wondered what other fans think the season will be like next year minus Rangers????

I think with no Rangers, Celtic are weaker in the boardroom when all the clubs get together to discuss jibber jabber.

As a Rangers man i'm ashamed at how The club, the fans and even the remaining clubs have been puinshed for the actions of Murray and Whyte, that will never be forgotten and don't ever forget it either, Rangers football Club is the victim..

But i'm walking away from it altogether, i have no trust in men in suits that run our game, the fans and the other lot in the SPLHELL sporting integrity don't make me laugh.

Sensible, honest comments from kurt. The games between Rangers and Celtic played a huge part in the growth of season ticket sales at both clubs. It's good to see someone taking a clear look at what things might actually be like next season (and quite possibly longer) rather than just gloating.

Stifler, the spl clubs who have voted no are listening to their fans, if rangers had just swanned back into the spl next season football in this country was finished, they have been made to make a tough desision here, that they shouldnt have had to make.

Bottom line is Rangers messed up we all know that and putting them on the 3rd division may happen but trust ne the league is going to change and it will go from 3 leagues to 2 so you might see Rangers sooner than later

Also without Rangers Celtic won't get the votes they need so our game is going to change big time

I will miss the old firm games but say there is not one for a couple of years, then the next tickets will be like gold dust as the old firm derby is one of the best, but I would say that as I am a Celtic fan

And by the way if we don't romp the league next season then questions will be asked

When Celtic were in the doldrums and near extinction prior to Fergus McCann stepping in, Rangers were on one of their biggest 'highs' and lifting trophy after trophy.

However, while the attendances at Ibrox were great for the first few years, they gradually began to drop off more and more each year even as the magical 10-in-a-row became a distinct possibility.

No doubt, without Rangers as competition next season (and for how many more who knows), crowds at Parkhead will be on the "up" for a while but, just as in the Rangers case, real football fans (of whom Celtic certainly have more than their fair share) will soon tire of watching "easy" games and attendances will drop as human nature always dictates.

Let's see what the SFA, SPL and all those other clubs and fans who are currently so keen to "put the boot " into the 'Gers in fits of prejudice and past injustices (perceived or otherwise) fare when the money starts to dry up and part-time football becomes more than just a possibility in places other than just Greenock, Falkirk, Inverness and Fife.

Scottish football....shooting itself in the foot again.....(we'd be World Champions at that without a doubt!)

Really does show your upbringing,
Lets be fair here lets have two sets of rules.
One for the Old firm
One for the other forty teams in Scotland.

Is that what your saying?

No Scottish football doing the right thing.

Do you not like being in the wrong and every other club should rally round to help?
