Ronaldo, bottler? How so?

It seems the Ronaldo bashers or more accurately the Messi fangirls will find anything to wet themselves over when it comes to Cristiano Ronaldo failing. He has apparently now bottled it for not taking a penalty vs Spain last night.

Question for the Messi fangirls, do you actually believe what you are saying or do you deep down inside know what you are saying is a load of garbage but you will still use it to have a go at a man supposedly not in Messi's league but still can't help talking about?

Some fakhts.
1) It isn't Ronaldo's fault Moutinho missed his penalty.
2) It isn't Ronaldo's fault Alves missed his penalty.
3) The 5th penalty in a shoot out is more often than not decisive.
4) Fabregas took Spain's 5th penalty last night, why has he not been branded a bottler?

Ronaldo has finished the tournament with 3 goals, not 100% certain but I'm pretty sure that makes him joint top scorer so far. He pretty much carried Portugal to the semi's by himself and was prepared to put himself in the position Cesc found himself in last night, the penalty with the most pressure, the most decisive penalty and because of this he has been branded a bottler? What if Alves' pen hit the post and went in? What if Cesc's pen hit the post and went out, Ronaldo would have been stepping up to slot in the winner and all the Messi fangirls would be grinding their teeth saying that a penalty in a shoot out doesn't mean anything.

Some of you need to grow up, Messi is the best player in the world, we can all admit that, but Ronaldo is not that far behind and is miles ahead of Xavi, Iniesta and the rest. The sooner you all admit it and appreciate greatness when you see it, rather than be bitter about it, the better.

Yup. There's no way this stuff stays with them for long. It all seemed like a bigger deal back in the day, like it was your one and only chance to win the big one. A player like Ronaldo get's a million kicks at the can with all the competitions these days. Probably already forgotton about it.

These (or older formats of them) have been around since the sixties.

So, what is it you actually mean?

If you think Ronaldo isn't bothered then that doesnt say much for the England players.

Looking at Ronaldos face as he was coming off the pitch, I would say he is very bothered about it.

Just because he isnt crying his eyes doesn't means he doesn't care.

I know he didnt take a pen so what everyone is gunna say about this comment may be disregarded, but I get the feeling he was going to miss.

After Alonso's was saved, the BBC showed Ronaldos face for a second, and it was more like a 'oh dear god, my penalty may be the winner' kinda nervous look, he didnt look too disappointed either, when they had lost.

Not only that he missed one of the better oppurtunities during the game (not saying hes a bottler for it, otherwise Iniesta is also a bottler, as well as Navas, and pretty much anyone who misses a chance) but what Im saying is that he didnt exactly inspire his team like a captain should. The "best" player in the world and captain for your country shouldnt waste oppurtunities like that...

also bear inmind that Ronaldo does miss penalites under pressure, eg vs chelsea CL Final, vs Bayern CL semi

In quite a lot of the knockout pk's I have seen recently it has been the first team to miss that comes out on top.

Hard to explain really.

Yeah, I knew someone was gonna say that. Meh, maybe it's me that doesn't care that much anymore then.
