I know everyone has an opionon about SC, whether he should stay or be sacked, whether he did a good job keeping us up or was he the reason we struggled etc. However whatever happens the way he has conducted himself since the last game of the season has been excellent, his future has been up in the air but he has sorted out the pre-season and just got on with his job regardless. I am in two minds whether he should keep the job, the wins at Leeds, Brum and Blackpool were on a par with any results Billy got but the winless/scoreless run was worse than Calderwood.
Personally I'd like to see him keep some kind of roll at the club even if he is replaced as manager, he has an eye for talent which was proved by his giving McCleary a run in the team and bringing in the likes of Pep, Cunningham , Higginbottom and Elokobi - players who arguably kept us up.

Would you lads have Sven,he's got a very good record against us mighty Rams. Just to say, I think you should keep SC and give him 10 games. That's if he gets chance to spend money.

I believe Steve Cotterill should stay and if he does he will move the club forward.
He did a better than OK job from January onwards after the loanees and SOD came in. If he is allowed to get the squad back to something like it was last April and bring in his own coaches and assistant there is no reason why that can't continue.
Changing managers would delay the process and cost time we don't really have.
A new manager would not have been able to assess the players we have nor absorb the ethos of the club.
New owners coming in and immediately sacking people would not generate a good environment.
And finally like any new government a new manager (even Billy) would blame his failings on the previous regime.

I'm in two minds about cotts. To sum it up really, Id say he is ok, not bad, but hes not going to be one of these managers who sets the footballing world alight.
I wouldn't be gutted if he was still here next season, or if he left, but if genuinely a better manager and by one I mean one who is tried and tested in the championship came along (except McCarthy), i would prefer them to him but on the other hand, I would prefer SC to someone like Fergie JR, just cause of his name, I mean I would prefer NLN to him

Certainly agree that SC has acted with dignity throughout. His loan signings were impressive and we did stay up. That aside, it has to rank as a turgid experience. The lean spell was unquestionably dire.
Will stick by my guns; wanted him replaced at the end of the season. However, never envisaged Ferguson and thankful he is 'out of the running'. Sven, no! Warnock, yes, but not sure he will leave Leeds.
However, thrilled at developments and excited about expected influx. Also hope Ipswich are serious about Chambers.

Maybe because they have missed out on Fawaz, to us, that they will grab Chambers off us and make him unbeatable at the heart of their defence

Has he ever been at a club where they HAVEN'T been strapped for cash? He's been limited to making do, it'd be interesting to see how he'd do with some financial backing. I kinda want to see him given a chance simply for the 7-3.

Itd be interesting, or he deserves a shot?
This could be one of the most important times in years for the club. Decision made now could effect Forest for the next ten or twenty years, maybe if longer.
And we should let Cotterill stay, a man with no history of anything like success at this level because of one, or a few games in his long career?
If you look at his career at forest as a whole you sack him now, if you look at his career at this level over all, then you sack him now. If you pick one or a few games in isolation to base a decision on, then you sack him at Christmas and set the club back a year, maybe longer.

Al-Florist, he had a bit to spend when he was at The Lane.
Sutton, fair comment. I would be happy to see Cotterill leave if he brought in someone better who would have an immediate impact, but Ferguson? Come on. Sven? just likes spending other peoples money. MM, like Colin is a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to strategy and tactics I think. (Not that I think that Cotts is the most forward thinking coach)
I really can't see him doing such a poor job that we would be in the same situation as when he came after a dozen games or so that is why I say give him a chance.
