Fair points Alex.
I am not sure, but I think the tim name came from a Glasgow street gang, known as the Tim Molloy's.
The Billy Boys thing may have come from the leader of another gang, possibly led by a guy named Billy (Henderson)...........so the tim's fought the billy boys.
This could be baws,as my memory is shot.
Agree about the hate filled garbage DC.No need from any side.

Yea,William 3 may also have summit to do with it,but the old street gangs of tims v billy boys is relevant too.

Apology accepted Alexia. If my family and mates supported Rangers then I probably would have done the same, untill I grew up and seen a bit of sense
I dont deny people support Celtic and Rangers because of Religion, but thats a thing of the past tbh. You wont see many kids in Eire supporting Celtic because they are 'kaffliks' and you wont see any Protestant kids supporting Rangers because well because there isnt any rangers Most tend to support there local team and/or a team from the EPL rather than the SPL.
