I've seen a few articles from fans saying we need to be "realistic" and "keep perspective" but looking around the old tinterweb I don't think keeping our feet on the ground is going to be a big problem.
This could be a great opportunity for the club to do exciting things. For us fans to see things we never thought we would again. Forest back in the top league mixing it with the big boys.
But all I'm seeing, on twitter in particular is people wanting to sign former players and turning there nose up at any manager that's not Cotterill. Even managers we could never realistically dream of getting.
Let's say we'd appointed another manager when we gave SC the job and he'd left. Who'd want SC now? No one. We've got to realise there's bigger and better things out there. We don't have to stick with what we've got or go back to what we had before. And I'm talking about players as much as managers
I find it all a bit odd.

Sutton - We dont even know how much money we have. Dont forget we were probably sold fairly cheaply.
Also, we didnt offer lynch and chambers decent offers. Maybe becasue we can now afford better, or maybe because they can't compete with other teams wages. Dont forget, with our wage we lose 10mil a year. Maybe the new owner dont want that, and are cutting playing staff.
If the money is there, then I like your spend spend approach to get us where we want to be, but we dont even know if there is any money to spend yet.

Would be great to see an approach to youth, upgrade the academy to A1 status. Target young up coming hungry players under the age of 25 (preferably) instead of 'never has been premiership journeymen' like Greening and Boateng! Look at the lower leagues, Scotland, Ireland, Scandanavia and allocate 10% to 20% of our first team squad to players from our academy. Build slowly and solidly. Sell anyone that doesnt sign a new contract with onmly a year to run!

talking of Boateng, i follow him on twitter and he recently suggested that adlene guedioura may well sign for forest onceake over complete, also gunter would leave this summer.
also i have noticed that when guedioura tweets he often hashtags nffc!
make of this what you will!

I'm not saying spend spend spend. I'm saying look at where we can improve and look a bit further than what we've got now and what we've had before.
The football worlds massive but so many seem unwilling to look outside our little part of it.

there's a big difference between ambition and chucking money around imo sutton. we've seen enough times that going out and just accumilating big names isn't necessarily what works in the championship.
we've got no defenders and simply going out and buying some isn't likely to pay instant dividends. the club needs to have a clear plan and stick with it through the initial growing pains that are to be expected

Sutton who would you want to replace SC and which players would you want to sign?

I'd have McCarthy or holloway.i believe Blackpool have said they wouldn't stand in Holloways way if he wanted to leave. We could get both I reckon.
As for players that very much depends on budget and I dont know what that is at this time.
