If any of you had listened to the Charlie Wyett's interview on Talksport you would know what I am talking about and I like the sound of it.
Yesterday Charlie Wyatt of The Sun gave an interesting perspective on what has recently been happening over at the Lane. All is beginning to intrigue me massively when starting to think about it.
In Charlie's words Spurs have signed Gareth up to a contract of £105k p/w, Sigurdsson was given a wage of the previous highest earners and Adebayor is to be given almost the same wages he was on at City (it was dues to be £115k p/w)! So with all this in mind where is that money coming from!
There are now talks coming out that Tottenham are receiving heavy investment and it has come from America, so although Levy was out there for personal reasons, it now seems that it was extended so he could secure this investment in the club.
Now whether I believe that Levy would offer Ade over £100k I don't know but I am surprised as to the whispers coming out at the moment.
So it now takes me onto Brad Friedel's interview who states that he would be surprised if VDV or Modric left as the club has massive ambition. He also goes on to state that the same rumours were out last year and Levy decided to keep them. However when pressed he said that Levy would not sell without a ready made replacement. Well that means if the likes of Ganso and Oscar come in then someone else will still come in as they will not be ready made (so no panic if either of them do in fact end up coming).
So it seems as if with these rumours building we may not have even seen the tip of the iceberg yet.
More to follow on the transfers themselves.
Come on you Spurs!
BRACE FOR BIG NEWS!!!

We have a great partnership with AEG, we had a joint stadium bid for the Olympic stadium with them and I suspect AEG might use our new stadium as a music venue in the off season hence the investment

Don't think new WHL is viable.
How do you protect the hallowed turf for starters ??

The pitch gets relayed every season so it doesn't matter if it gets messed up during the off season, probably be no home friendlies but away friendlies build the fan base so that's a plus.

I'm not sure I buy into this.
We would not go from being tight with wages to suddenly being freely handing out big sums.
Take Sigurdsson for example. If he is on £70k then players of similar development, who have been at the club longer, like Walker, Hudd, Lennon Kaboul and other will be on a lot less. It would lead to big problems.
I think that systematically we may increase wages over time and I can understand Bale & may be Ade getting big pay but i do not see why Levy would abandon his negotiation approach on the likes of Sigurdsson...if LFC only offered what Swansea offered, why would we offer so much more to seal the deal.

I agree devonshire, Unless we are talking mega money and all the players have had hefty increases then i think the 70k for Sigurdson and full amount for ade must be rubbish.
Sigurdson looks promosing, but hes not done anything to warrent that kind of a wage,
