If it is another American then we will probably be in the same boat as United in a few years, millions of pounds in debt.

Don't think ENIC will allow the classic PE firm "leverage" tactic to be used. For a start Spurs don't have the revenues of Man Utd.

Simply on the basis that they are American? Eh... that's not how... you know... reality works.

Surely if we were being bought out they wouldn't be dishing out the big contracts already.. what if the new owners had a different manager in mind..?

Sounds to me like investment, possibly stadium sponsorship.

The chairman isn't soft. This is a business and sometimes you start to spend the cash you haven't got but you know its in the pipeline.

Levy is merely utilising the money they will get for Modric to up the wages of the clubs best players.

We have a great partnership with AEG, we had a joint stadium bid for the Olympic stadium with them and I suspect AEG might use our new stadium as a music venue in the off season hence the investment

Don't think new WHL is viable.
How do you protect the hallowed turf for starters ??

The pitch gets relayed every season so it doesn't matter if it gets messed up during the off season, probably be no home friendlies but away friendlies build the fan base so that's a plus.

I'm not sure I buy into this.

We would not go from being tight with wages to suddenly being freely handing out big sums.

Take Sigurdsson for example. If he is on £70k then players of similar development, who have been at the club longer, like Walker, Hudd, Lennon Kaboul and other will be on a lot less. It would lead to big problems.

I think that systematically we may increase wages over time and I can understand Bale & may be Ade getting big pay but i do not see why Levy would abandon his negotiation approach on the likes of Sigurdsson...if LFC only offered what Swansea offered, why would we offer so much more to seal the deal.

posted on 12/7/12

I agree devonshire, Unless we are talking mega money and all the players have had hefty increases then i think the 70k for Sigurdson and full amount for ade must be rubbish.

Sigurdson looks promosing, but hes not done anything to warrent that kind of a wage,

Because the Pooool fans cannot deal with the y = x + 1 algebra.
