Can someone explain for me what “in the spirit of the game" actually means and to what extent do you negate the laws of the game for the spirit of the game?
Last weekend whilst playing in the Sunday league I was batting. The bowler bowled and I blocked it back to the bowler. He then rolled it back in the direction of the keeper, I left my crease and attempted to kick it back at him, so we could get on with the game – I missed the ball, keeper got it and stumped me. Given out!!!
By the laws of the game, I’m out. But its abit bloody childish and unsportmans like to even appeal? Considering I picked the ball up in a similar situation and threw it back to the bowler in the previous over. If I was attempting to run, that’s fair enough, but I wasn’t.
Do I have a point, or am I talking collywobbles? I was fuming and gave a few verbals to the umpire on my way back to the hut. Maybe that’s not in the spirit of the game
Bell vs England – India called him back.
Inzy vs England – shocking decision to give iny out when harmison threw ball back at him.
Any others?
What is it??

Becareful when bowling beamers Afridi. Back in 1981, playing for my school U16s in Liverpool, I upset a bowler from the other team who bowled 2 beamers at me, which strayed slightly down the leg side and they both ended up in the local play park - six and six again.
It did not improve his mood one iota

When I was in primary school (Year 6) play against another school I got hit by a beamer. The wind ball hit me flush in the eye I actually laughed... It was the last ball of the innings, I remember seeing the ball coming I was in two minds to duck because I thought our teachers umpiring the game may not give it a no-ball, whilst thinking what to do it hit me right in the face.
And, what does my teacher say as it hit you I'll give it a no-ball

Amir, judging by some of your postings on this site, you're still suffering from post traumatic stress.
