Forget who reported what. The primary factor is the crime in question.
So lets compare the two players/incidents:
One player had been in the country for less than 12 months and doesn't understand or speak english. He is NOT caught on camera using racially abusive language. He is made public enemy number one. The fans around the country, the press and ex-players, ex-managers, representatives of the FA and pretty much every ex black player you can think of come out and criticise him. He is fined £40,000 and banned for 8 games - he will carry the tag of racist for the remainder of his time in the country.
The other player has been in the country his entire life, ONLY understands and speaks english. He IS caught on camera using racially abusive language. He is left alone to carry on playing football. No fans, no major papers, no ex-players, ex-managers and no ex black players come out to criticise him. He is not fined and he will not be banned.
Both men are players in the english premier league and were both accused of using racially abusive language on a football pitch.
Of the two incidents - one of them carries 100 times the weight of guilt than the other yet it will be the foreign player whose reputation will be tainted by racial abuse.
This is not a pop at Chelsea or Terry - but the handling of both incidents.
Admins - i'd give anything to swear in this conclusion...
what a F#%+$n Joke

Ive never heard it before either. It was obvioius to me what it meant though as soon as i saw it. I can not imagine for a moment that ferdinand either did not already know the phrase or instantly understood the connetations as well.
The statement as a whole was
"Looks like ashley cole's going to be their chocice. Then again he's always been a sell out. Shame on him"

when you think that most prem club's catchment area is "the world" and norwich's was "norfolk" it shows what an achievement it was for lambert to get his team to finish mid table. i think villa have made a very shrewd move taking him onboard and expect their perofrmances to improve substantially over the next couple of seasons.

To be honest, i wouldnt normally give 2 shiiits about what rio said, after the fuss he's made about terry etc it's a bit of a different matter, and I have no doubt that whatever he has publically said about it Ashley Cole will have been personally hurt and offended by the comment, as was no doubt part of ferdinand's motivation for making the comment.

2. I am white, and I can not possibly see how this is racially offensive to white people.
------------
To me the term choc-ice has similar connotations to the term Uncle Tom which is a racial term and is considered highly offensive.
Aren't you familiar with the phrase uncle tom, or are you intentionally burying your head in the sand? You're from the States aren't you VC, therefore I'm sure you must be familiar with this expression.
If Frimpong is charged, then I can see Ferdinand being charged. This would be consistent, which us exactly what you say you want.

Or VC like.me.lives in a nice area and.has a circle of non offensive friends.

the term is not well known so far as i am aware, but it is self explanatory. rio will have understood it just as i underst.
Who exactly is cole supposed to be 'selling out' here ? :
"Looks like ashley cole's going to be their chocice. Then again he's always been a sell out. Shame on him"and it.
He is a friend and team mate of john terry. The only answer can therefore be that he is selling out on his race. That in itself gives a racial connetation to the comment, and suggests that people of one race should stick togethor. The comment is saying that it is 'shameful' that he does not adhere to this racial grouping. The phrase choc-ice (black on the outside, white on the inside), reinforces the racial nature of the comment and also implies that cole is acting like a white person would act - again racially discriminatory (against white people), and taken togethor with the rest of the post, racially abusive as well as abusive to the indiviaul (cole).

Let me rewrite that. Too many typos :

He is a friend and team mate of john terry. The only answer can therefore be that he is selling out on a race. That in itself gives a racial connetation to the comment, and suggests that people with racial similarities should stick togethor. The comment is saying that it is 'shameful' that he does not adhere to this racial grouping. Any chance chocice could be a typo? Haven't really followed this story and assuming it was written like jpb has written it above.
