Barca now V Ronaldinho days

Ill thought ill start my JA606 account with something that ive been wondering for a while.

While Messi has got much better since them days IMHO Pedro and Villa are a huge step down from Ronaldinho and Eto'o and (while watching Chelsea face opponents for 15 years) no other strikers have ever scared the **** out of me like those 2 did, only Henry came even remotely close (the real Ronaldo never played against Chelsea). The years 04-06 Ronaldinho looked capable of skinning players and scoring and when Eto'o had the ball in the box you knew full well you could be picking the ball out of youre net any second.

So the question i wanna ask is are this current Barca team (Messi aside) more terrifying than they were in 2005?

I wasn't being patronising maybe you were, sorry I hit the wrong key .
It's hard to compare one player to another from a different league let alone another era . If Messi has failed to live up to his reputation in the World Cup is this because of him , the national team , manager or league he plays in ?

Messi was a joy to watch at the world cup. Set up most of the goals and very unlucky not to score. Argentina have plenty of world class goalscorers. They still ran everything through Messi, just didn't rely on him to finish them off so much. The defence wasn't good enough to cope with Germany though. Will see what happens at Copa America. He managed to beat arch rivals Brazil on his own. There are no friendlies between those 2 clubs as well.

I personally enjoyed the performances of Forlan but that's just opinions .
I think though that Messi is still too young to judge maybe at the end of his time can he truly be rated amongst the greats or not whatever the case maybe .
Also he can only really be compared to players of his position how can anyone say he's a better player than say Beckenbauer .
Anyway it's been good talking to you but I have to get the kis up in the morning so better sign off .

We were so close to signing Ronaldinho as well, everyone says that if we had signed him though we wouldnd't have got Ronaldo, but that isn't strictly true, imagine that attack, Ronaldinho, Rooney, Ronaldo

The best Barca team has to be the 07/08 team.

"the real Ronaldo never played against Chelsea"

I have to take issuewith you on that; not only has he played against Chelsea on numerous occasions, he scored against them when Man Utd won the ECL in Moscow!
Fat Ronaldo never did, mind you...

On the whole, this barca team.

Xavi and iniesta despite being great players were nowhere as scary a prospect back then. Nowadays they dont just embarass midfields, they demolish them and ruin their confidence.

Ronaldinho was the most magical skilful player I have ever seen. The things he could do were amazing. I mean how many other barca players get a standing ovation at the bernabau?

That goal he scored against chelsea was a sheer joy to watch.

Shame his prime was so short and he prefered to party.

However, he was not as good nor lethal as messi overall is now.

So i would go for this barca tbh.
