Big smile on my face. Specially if this comes through.

Sky Sports understands that Sean O'Driscoll has been interviewed for the vacant managerial post at Nottingham Forest.

The Reds remain in the market for a new boss after parting with the services of Steve Cotterill.
New owners the Al-Hasawi family have identified a number of possible candidates to fill the coaching void and are working their way through the list.

Former Sunderland and Wolves manager Mick McCarthy has already ruled himself out of the running, but reports continue to suggest that Darren Ferguson and Glenn Hoddle are top targets.

Forest hope to make an appointment by the weekend, giving their new manager as much time as possible to bring in fresh faces and stamp his authority on proceedings.

Contender

O'Driscoll has emerged as a surprise contender for the role, and he has held talks with the Al-Hasawis.

The 55-year-old is currently in charge of League One new boys Crawley Town, but spent time at the City Ground last season.

He linked up with Cotterill in January, offering his expertise to the Reds' coaching staff.

O'Driscoll left for Crawley in mid-May, but could soon be on his way back to Trentside.

For a bunch that came across so well in their press conference they're showing themselves up now. I'm not a uge Cotterill fan but to get rid of him while not having a clue who to bring in was frankly ridiculous.

If SOD gets the job, and I hope he does, do you think he will ask SC to be his assistant?
