Just read the news on the wires late tonight.
Forest fans are almost as underwhelmed as the "high profile" manager tag as been applied to the O'Driscoll Red and white army boys ?
Well at least as soon as Richie Wellens gets over his knee injury we know where hes off to in January.
Spare the wums and trolls what do you honestly think of this ?
While I'm here, who will reign as East Midlands top club this coming season?
For what its worth we all need to get back into the Premier League. East Midlands football has been out of the top flight for far too long and I would prefer for all 3 of our teams to up there bantering.
Good luck to all for the new season.
The future is bright......its Blue.
O'Driscoll..........Really ?

Are we really having a sensible discussion on here?

I'm in the process of turning over a new leaf.
Tell your friends!
That's not to say I won't engage in banter from time to time. Just a little less frequently....

To be fair Toronto, it's sensible because everyone is talking sense.
should be a good few weeks for you guys as your dealings are going to come thick and fast.
Just hope your owners don't push these Kuwaiti players on your manager.

"Icon"
A person or thing regarded as a representative symbol of something.

Purely subjective, SOD may be perfectly representative of what the new owners want to do. For example, produce a good footballing team without breaking the bank.
I'll admit, I had a little snigger when I heard the news last night. But, as seems to be the general consensus, it's actually both a decent and sensible appointment to have made.
I was genuinely hoping NFFC ended up with a Hoddle, a Sven or better still a Billy, but on the plus side i'm glad McCarthy seemingly rejected the job.

Honestly think this is the best first step for the new owners. SOD already knows the club and the players here, so he can effectively get to work on day one, without having to find out who's who.
What we will find out now though is how insistent the new owners are in pushing Kuwaiti players into the club. I've seen some good stuff from some of them, but that was on youtube and it WAS the Kuwaiti league.

SOD strikes me more as a continental-type 'coach' as much as he is a typical English manager - the potential appointment of Steve Coppell as DofF would fit with this, and may explain Mad Micks apparant rejection and any other difficulties in appointing a "big name". Assuming this is the structure they have wanted all along.

Blimey, can it really be true? Tonto's record has finally come unstuck? Is there perhaps a road to Damascus in Canada?
