Give Chamakh-attack another chance?

With the revelation/ bombshell that Chamakh is eager to stay and wants another shot, what are you gooners thoughts on this?

Gotta say I was hoping he would be sold at the end of last season. He had a decent first 6 months but then spent a year and half warming the bench and look dreadful when ever he came on ... I have never seen a striker want to pass more then score a goal!

But I like a player who has the right attitude and declaring he wants to stay and fight for a place is promising. If/ when we lose Van we already have giroud and podolski, and chamakhs first 6 months or so were quite impressive.

Im split on it... I think we need to sort out the midfield not the striking department and if he is determined to fight for his place back then I would be willing to give him another season ...perhaps no arsenal for while has driven me crazy?

Would you give chamakh another shot?

He's prepared to fight for his place IF van Persie leaves.

What a trooper.

Chamakh is not a top 4 striker, simple. If he stays it should only be as a backup. We need to aim higher if are to have any chance of challenging

No, Chamakh is an OK player but is weak mentally, he just can't hack it.
He doesn't even play well for Morocco
I think it's better for both sides if he has a fresh start.

I'd give him another season, if RVP goes let him lead the line

Maybe if he takes a hefty wage cut. He should be earning less than I do based on his current form.

Well what ever we might think he will be an Arsenal player for another year.

I for one will be cheering him on and hope that he can recapture the goal scoring form he had in his first 6 months.

I think that the arrival of Podolski and Giroud will mean we play a system that suits Chamakh more than when RVP was leading the line. That and the fact he is looking very sharp in training makes me believe he is worth holding onto for 1 more year.

At the end of the day he is only a backup striker, nothing to get yor knickers in a twist over.
