Just tried the demo for PES 13- and well...
Its shocking. I doubted they'd be able to compete with FIFA in the long run and now it seems they are at a loss. The game itself seems flawed and you never really feel in control of a player- hit a picture perfect sliding tackle (unbelivable so) and got booked for it.
Seems slow and heavy in comparison too.
FIFA may pretty much be the same game every year but at least they seem to try and implement new things each year (ultimate team, head to head seasons, be a pro, new defending technique etc). PES are just standing still as if to accept they are in a losing battle.
Its sad really because without competition, FIFA will suffer too.

the best thing in fifa is whenever you go 1-nil up against someone online, they immediately quit the game.

Hmmm. Just played a couple of games. Not bad at all to be honest.
The passing is a little re.tarded though. As is the shooting. Wtf? Is there no finesse button?

What's wrong with the passing? IMO opinion it is near perfect aside from not enough power being generated from over the top through balls and sometimes the power of a pass isn't consistent.
Finesse shooting hold R2 as you shoot.

I noticed a few times if I didn't hold down the pass button long enough for a 10yard pass, my guy would pass it two yards in front of him and then wait for the other guy to run 8 yards to collect the pass, rather than collecting it himself.
It was a bit ridiculous but hopefully easily sorted.

Yeah. That's what I meant about the inconsistent passing. And the wrong player running onto it is bad scripting from the AI. Hoping it's all fixed by demo #2. If not I may just skip on the football games this year.

I did that about 5 times RtM, it just decided not to shoot.
The passing's ok, just the players always seem to have to throw a leg towards it when receiving. Doesn't go to feet.

Really? I've hit some amazing curlers in this demo. I accept I'm just not good enough in passing to hit to the feet. I have everything on fully manual. Plus I tend to play the ball into space more than not.
