Petrucci - The next step...

Pogba probably wasn't used because Sir Alex knew ahead of time (or us supporters) that Pogba was most likely off. If Petrucci has signed a contract then i'm sure he'll get league cup games to prove his worth.

I think we'll definitely see the likes of Petrucci, Tunnicliffe, Lingard, Cole,Michael Keane and maybe Vermijl get more chances for the first team this season or go out on loan.

They won everything there is to win at reserve level last season. The next step is to either go out on loan or make the step up to the first team and hopefully one or two will do so.

I haven't heard anything about Petrucci signing a new 3 year deal.

The last I heard was what Sky Italia reported about 6 weeks ago but there's been nothing official I don't think.

I would imagine though that he's already signed or very close to signing a new deal and that the club just haven't announced it yet. I don't think there's any danger of him doing a Pogba.

I said this a couple months previous that he was possibly the CM that SAF has in mind and if he develops, he could be stellar.
