Just read this paragraph from KB interview today on "Radio Yorkshire.
"KB: Well there are conversations going on all the time but it was interesting watching Sky Sports News this morning. When Peter Coates the Stoke City chairman said he had pulled out of two deals with two players because of their wage demands. It’s interesting, forget the Big Four, the Ugly Four, whatever you want to call them, throwing their money around as if it is waste paper but the other clubs, even the Premiership are being far more cautious and players are beginning to realise the crock of gold is almost empty. There was one player, no names, who we were negotiating with, we offered him an increase of over a third on him existing salary and he turned it down and came back with a bigger demand so we ignored it. He came back yesterday, his agent said ‘we’re happy to accept the offer you made’. I said ‘what offer, you turned it down?’. ‘No, no’ the agent said, ‘we’ve changed our mind’. ‘Yes’ said Shaun Harvey, ‘and so have we’. He can stick where he is and not get a rise because he’s being too bloody greedy or the agent was. So it’s difficult. We are not going to break the bank, we are not going to put our financial security in jeopardy and as we move on towards August 6, I think you’ll find that players who at the moment are on jobseekers allowance of £89 a week will become more realistic as to what their value is. The short version of that long answer to your question is yes, we are still negotiating and looking for extra players.
Was it Andy Lonergans agent ?
Who do you think it was.
Who was Papa Smurf talking about

Wakey...Bates is a top businessman. He bought Chelsea for a quid and sold it for several hundred millions. Because of that I'm content that we have a top operator running our club and I'm confident we will get back to the top.
Before Bates came in I wasn't sure we fans would have a club to support...or in your case criticise!

Koppie
He bought Chelsea for a quid because it was worthless.
You think he didn't have to put any money in too keep it running
And he got 16m for shares in Chelsea not hundreds
He didn't make hundreds off a pound, he had to invest alot to keep it running

Liw I know the public figure is 17 mill that bates apparently made.
However, I was speaking with a bates connection at the weekend, the figure is actually 100 mill.
It's a very interesting story, abramovich actually wanted to buy spurs on the Wednesday, levy didn't believe he was for real and crossed London to Chelsea.
Bates had till the Friday to make a payment to creditors that he was unable to make and was bricking it.
Chelsea were well and truly in the mire, all down to Chelsea village project.

Pure supposition on either yours or your informants part. If the payment part is correct who can say Bates didn't have a strategy to raise the the payment elsewhere and what evidence is there to blame any presumed cashflow problem on Chelsea Village which, without evidence to the contrary, we have to assume contributed to the cashflow of the company and if it doesn't contribute why hasn't the Russian wound it up ?
