Chelsea can stump up £50m if they want him that bad. He's just as valuable to us as Torres was to Liverpool.

To get CL that regularly and yet still post huge losses says it all

Free Luka
And to think wanting CL football at a bigger, better club makes a player a mercenary says it all
If he only wanted money then surely he'd be trying to engineer a move to the Far East

Sorry, these contracts do not fall under normal terms of employment. Effectively ALL footballers are self employed but contracted to an organisation, very similar way that your GP is self employed but contracted into the NHS.
Therfore the rules of engagement are totally different. Normal notice periods do not apply!

But anyone can change a GP and they can get rid of you (following an appeal). Oh I'm not a lawyer, who knows.

Changing your GP is not the same, as you are not contractually obligated to see them or vice versa..........
A lot og high earners in industry normally register themselves as companies & thus reduce the level of taxation they pay. They are classed as self employed...................but work under very precise & exacting contracts.
If they default they can be liable to pay compensation depending on the express terms of the contract.
Most footballers utilise shell companies to process their earnings through. This means that the can pay as little as 19% tax when they would normally pay 50%.
