What I find really funny is how everyone that claims to know something or someone that does at least has 1 reason or other why they can't divulge that info - seems like every man and his dog have signed this confidentiality agreement.

I'm not going to divulge the agents name for obvious reasons - the deal is supposed to be confidential and I really don't want to get a family member into trouble.

As Jonty said - we compared notes and from what he has been told by his agent connection fits in with what I was told. My nephew would have no reason to make it up and to be honest why would he? He has much better and more lucrative things to do with his time.

Jonty knows the reason why I can't just post his message on here. I'd love to but I'd have to leave out the names and if I did so then one in particular would mean the message losing a lot of it's meaning (if that's the right word).

PS - I haven't heard anything else recently and have messaged my nephew to see if he has any more news. He's not replied so I guess it's either a no or he's just too busy with work to find out.

I can understand why some would not want to believe me and to be honest the only reason I have posted what I know is to let others know that there IS or WAS a takeover going on and it isn't an elaborate Bates wind up.

Hope that makes it a little clearer and I hope the damn thing gets sorted asap.

Stoopo - one of my customers is connected also. He was involved in the LUFC administration. I've told Jonty before who it is.

I normally deal with his wife but see him occasionally at the house. Just been round this evening and he confirmed that not only is the takeover bid most definite and that the bidders are from the middle east but 'there are a whole load of them'. He also reckoned we 'could be the next Man City'.

However, he also said everyone expected it to be done at the end of July - and his final parting words were 'it could all fall through yet, who knows' which would suggest nothing final is signed and sealed yet.

Obviously, he couldn't say anymore and I wouldn't push my luck to ask but that confirms enough to me. Let's just hope that whatever it is that's delaying it isn't anything that could cause it to collapse!
