people have said on here it must be a takeover because bates gave warnock money for players but how much has really been spent? money in versus money out? cant be much difference i would have thought but i am sure somebody will enlighten us

Someone had a good theory that the new owners do not want to make an announcement now so that it does not drive up the price of players we are trying to sign.

I think they will wheel out a giant cake at Elland Road against Wolves and Ken Bates will pop out wearing nothing but nipple tassles and a wry smile. x

Joe

We have not spent a penny over out going players sales so far have we?

posted on 3/8/12

that sounds like typical bates meme,so where are the investors? bates would need to do what has been done so far to appease wornock and improve on last year

Who said it excites me, joe? I'm just saying what I think will happen. I think you are suppressing some unwanted desires, personally. x

Wouldn't surprise me if Bates is purposely stretching it out to get back at the fans for hating him.

Jo,

I don't take kindly to being called a numpty.

I have inside info that came from my nephew. He has an office next door to the agent who is brokering the deal. The agent is well known in the football world and my nephew informed me that Warnock was in his office almost every day the other week as he was on the verge of walking out and only stayed because he was told about the takeover and given assurances.

So - there is a takeover going on - it is not a Bates wind up. Yet I have no idea if it will succeed or not.

Young White.

Believe what you want mate. I have every faith in my nephew. He is a very successful businessman and a STH at Leeds. I have also been very close to him since he was a wee bairn and no way would he tell me porkies.

So I suggest you are a piece of shieeete!

He must be successful Stoopo - after all, he does have an office next to an agent (with very thin walls by all accounts)

How on earth can you comment on how successful he is? You don't know what company he owns or what he does! Idiot!

He also knows the agent personally - so thin Walls are not required. Just as well as its about 50 yards away.

I would name the agent but I know idiots like you would probably be ringing him every five muinutes to see if you can get some info from him.

Stoopo

It isn't the same agent has who was David batty's by any chance

Stoopo

I believe you and I don't think you're a numpty or a shieeete!! Possibly a buffoon on occasions, but so are we all eh...?

Better then being a muppet like LIW mind...?

Re the agent is it Jonty's friend Mr Goldberg, he's a really big hitter...?

Very good with goalkeepers and tennis players I've heard.

Eric I know who the agent is so shut it

From what I've heard thus far the current bid on the table is from a second party and the original bidders are no longer in the equation. This would explain the reason why it has taken longer than other similar deals.

Bates is known for being difficult. The business that I deal with that is also inextricably linked to Bates/Leeds United have said, despite being supporters of him, that they expect a sting in the tail from the Bearded Wonder when all parties think that a deal has been done. Again, another reason why this has dragged on forever.

That sting could be, according to various rumours, an insistence on remaining at ER as Chairman (just like he tried at Chelsea), dragging the exercise on past the transfer deadline (he is spiteful after all) or simply moving the goalposts re valuation or what's included in the deal such as ER/TA.

I think it will fail, just expect the worst given what we've experienced under Bates.

That said, Bates will be gone before the start of next season as the asset players have mostly gone and if we don't achieve promotion he'll be looking at serious losses.

I know the agent Stoopo is talking about and have heard the same name mentioned.

It's really not hard to work out.

Sorry, but Stoopo's opening post to Joe (who was moaning about people having 2nd hand info) was that he knew someone that knew something - lots and lots of people are being really stupid about thin know

YW, Stoopo and myself had an offline conversation and our info on the agent involved tallied.

I know all sorts claim all sorts on here, but I for one believe what Stoopo says.

Just because the whole process is taking longer than some people hoped people seem to be getting in a panic about it.

Leeds is a complicated setup with a machiavellian owner, it makes complete sense that any potential suitor wants to make sure they've covered every base.
