I Thought We Played Quite Well Last Night..

In the friendly against barca in gothenburg.

The team looked quite comfortable on the ball against a side that has had our number on more than one occasion.

Ok it was only pre-season and we did lose, but at the final whistle it was 0-0 and we lost on penalties........pity Rooney didn`t convert his spot kick in the dying moments of the first half, because i felt we may have hung on for a win.

De Gea looks like he`s much more assured and settled between the sticks, I predict we`re going to see the best of him this season. Vida played the first half, always a bonus, Scholesy was arguably man of the match and Nani looks like he is sharp and ready to prove a point too. Ando also looks like he`s playing with a point to prove in, what many see as, his make or break season.

Second half Kagawa came on and looked sharp, stinging the keepers palms twice inside first five minutes. Nice to see Powell and Wootton getting a run out too.

We`ve got a lot to be pleased about and a lot to look forward to, with or without rvp.

Bring on the new season!!!!

There were a few positives for sure, but we're still miles behind barca when it comes to keeping the ball,
==========

Everyone is miles behind Barca when it comes to keeping the ball.

.................

Exactly.

The only way anyone will be able to keep the ball better than Barca is if they buy all the Barca players.

But for all Barca's keep ball, they did not score any goals. And this, very much, was their undoing last year.

They like to walk the ball into the net...and looked very showy at the start and I thought they might...one of those things, Rooney missing the penalty, and worse the rebound...but second half was just a kick-about...no Messi or Iniesta or Rooney and the penalty shoot out was a joke, like nobody could care less.
Still it was Barcelona and United didn't get beaten 8-0 like some did!
