We have suffered a lot after selling Alonso. Some people at the club and fans thought Alonso only had one good season. So, selling him for 30m is not bad. They think now Agger is injury prone and selling him for more than 20m is a good business. Alonso was a key player for us. Agger is also a very important player for us. I can't believe we would be making the same mistake again. Alonso was irreplaceable. Agger is also irreplaceable.

Its imperative that we keep Agger. I won't sell him till the time we get a ridiculous offer, ala Carroll! Even then I will be reluctant, you don't get such loyal (and class) players anymore. He was unlucky with injuries in the past but he has shown signs of putting them behind himself.

Selling him would be a mistake for many reasons

Disagree OP
Selling Alonso for 30mil was great business, taking into account that the player put in a transfer request. However replacing him with Aquilani was terrible business and that made the Alonso departure that much more dramatic.
So on the Agger story. Yes very important and anyone associated with LFC will prefer him to stay but if we get a decent replacement that will play more games ensuring that our back line is not disrupted as much throughout the season. Then its not bad business.
