Comes out with comments about hoping JT will be freed from his Fa charge - basically saying he hopes he gets off with it.
Whatever you think of Terry Roy is an idiot for making the comments and totally undermines his employers. I would like to think it would lead to his sacking but we won't be that lucky. Not to mention Rio is going through a similar thing. Why not hope he is freed too? We all know why.
Good Old Roy

He's not there to win popularity, and this is football related matter!
Having been found not-guilty in a court I think it's quite reasonable for him to hope he's freed from FA charges, he can only be let off something if he's first proven to be guilty, and as yet that's not happened.
If he were found guilty and then Roy suggested there should be no punishment, then that would be different, but this is not the case!!!

he's expressing his desire to see it all cleared up in the best way to suit the interests of the England team
=======================================
Thats nice.
He has no reason to comment either way, and should keep his gob shut, until any case that Terry has to answer, is answered.

Well that's your opinion carrick, perhaps keeping quiet is the best option (easier option) but it's not the only option, and in my opinion he's done nothing wrong!

He has every reason to comment; he's the England manager and as such he has a right to his opinion as much as anyone, but his opinion actually more significant than most!

Hodgson's quote:
"John, hopefully, will be freed as he was freed in a court of law, and will carry on playing for England," said Hodgson.
"That's my hope. What will happen, I have no idea," he added.
..........................................................................................
He basically wants to see it all go away so he can get on with picking his England team without all this controversey hanging around, and who in their right mind wouldn't want that?!
That's not expressing an opinion on John and whether he's guilty or not!!!

The problem is he is taking sides and hoping terry gets off. when there are plenty who feel he deserves a ban because of how suerez was treated then for me Roy should keep his opinion to himself. It's a big issue and by taking sides he is wrong. What if he had gone the other way and said terry should just do his time. everyone, terry included, would have gone mad. The only difference here is his opinion supports yours.

carrickature - is largely correct; Roy should've kept his trap shut. It's extremely unprofessional to comment on ongoing FA investigations and hearings; he probably has no influence on the proceedings, but a perceived influence can be just as damaging.
However a manager should be able to state; 'I hope the best players are available for selection'. Which is probably how he should have answered the journalist x

I'm sorry to say, i don't know why! What do you mean by that statement?

Because he doesn't give two hoots about Rio and what happens to him. Roy is firmly in the Terry camp. Draw your own conclusions what that means.

You're talking in riddles. Are you saying Roy's racist?
