He may (in the strictest possible sense) be silly for saying it but I think that the whole saga still going on even though he was found not guilty in a court of law shows how bureaucratic and petty the FA are. How much money is being wasted investigating a guy who was already found innocent just so they can ban him for a few games just to show how much power they supposedly have.
I just wish everyone could just move on. Same with Rio. Roy feels the same and it's good to hear him speak his mind rather than be some just a guy who wheels out soundbites that are sanctioned by the FA.
Roy has proved time and time again that he is not the Rain Man that people claim he is.
One of the biggest myths in football at the moment is that he is a polyglot that can speak five languages not including English: Norwegian, Swiss, Arabic, Italian and Finnish.
Listen Roy might have been able to speak 'dressing-room- Norwegian, Arabic, Finnish etc ...just like after living in China, i brag about being able to speak Cantonsese and Mandarin - but i keep my boast to people who cannnot speak the language.
Is Roy just a wee bit racist? It wouldn't be surprising considering he spent time in S Africa at the height of apartheid.
'but I think that the whole saga still going on even though he was found not guilty in a court of law'
========================================
The Suarez case wouldn't have even got as far as going to court, yet this man is vilified, whilst in the case of Terry, we are asked to forget about the fact he is seen on camera calling someone a 'black ****', because the courts didn't prosecute him.
Strange twisted logic going on here I think.
he gets off with what exactly
whenever someone is accused of saying something out of line its okay to keep repeating what they say
thats all that Terry did, repeated what anton ferdinand had said hes said ,hed said .he said
Roy is firmly in the Terry camp when as England manager he has to show impartiality. And as much as i dislike suerez he received a hefty fine for an offence that wasn't even deemed criminal. yet Roy would have us free jt despite him using vulgar language live on tv. it does all need to stop and a three match ban would do that. but terry can't help making a big deal out of it. Roy backing him is totally wrong because his position is so influential if terry does get off with it again we can all cry foul play.
okay to keep repeating what they say
thats all that Terry did, repeated what anton ferdinand had said hes said ,hed said .he said
=======================================
How do you know that ?
Oh sorry, because John Terry said so.
Double standards at work here, on the premise Suarez used racist language and was suspended then so should Terry
U can't have it both ways, Roy should keep his mouth shut until the FA have dealt with the matter if they ever will
Wrong. Read the case summary before you spout lies. the judge accepted that anton never accused terry on the pitch. so whatever terry was responding too is a mystery because it wasn't anton. anyway, this article isn't about that. its about idiot Roy and no one wants to go down the trial line again.
Personally, I dont believe the FA as an orginasation, should be able to make such judgments on individuals.
As flawed as the legal system can be at times, when it comes to people being tarnished, in terms of branding them as racists, how can an administrative arm of a sporting orginasation have the power to effect this type of situation.
So as much as it pains me to say it, I wouldnt want to see Terry face a jumped up, ill qualified jury at the FA, as I dont believe they should have the power to make such decisions.
Stick to dubious goals, and red card appeals, and leave serious issues, such as this, to the legal system.

I agree. Well said
I didn't see all this sentiment when Suarez was being executed by FA's firing squad on the word of a like Evra

The problem you have with that statement is that Anton didn't say that to Terry, so chances are Terry's smart lawyers were able to get him off for racist abuse

Probably is, yes.
When you agree to work for any company, you sign an agreement not to say anything publicly to affect, or compromise that organisation on social media, or in the press.
Saying what he said would break such an agreement.
Exactly. As England Manager you should steer clear of controversial non football related comment. Plus backing Terry has to be one of the worst ways of enhancing your popularity.
I disagree st piran, he's expressing his desire to see it all cleared up in the best way to suit the interests of the England team and his job as manager, and what's wrong with wanting to see someone cleared; is it better to wish that someone is found to have been out of order or to wish that it's found not to be the case?!
No it's better to keep your mouth shut and not comment on a case that your employers are trying. The bloke is an idiot.
He's not there to win popularity, and this is football related matter!
Having been found not-guilty in a court I think it's quite reasonable for him to hope he's freed from FA charges, he can only be let off something if he's first proven to be guilty, and as yet that's not happened.
If he were found guilty and then Roy suggested there should be no punishment, then that would be different, but this is not the case!!!

=======================================
Thats nice.
He has no reason to comment either way, and should keep his gob shut, until any case that Terry has to answer, is answered.
Well that's your opinion carrick, perhaps keeping quiet is the best option (easier option) but it's not the only option, and in my opinion he's done nothing wrong!
