Thread of the day 16-07-11

Seeing as how its been very quiet on here today i thought i would try my hand at a thread of the day

the weather in St-Paul today is awful we've had rain and thunderstorms all day.

Lee Clark has said in the examiner that he " will have no problem using loans again because they have been successful for us over a period of time"
http://www.examiner.co.uk/huddersfield-town-fc/huddersfield-town-news/2011/07/16/huddersfield-town-manager-lee-clark-says-he-will-exploit-the-loan-market-again-86081-29061955/

so who i wonder does he have his eye on in the loan market, LC specifically says that the prem loans we have had have been successful ( he must have forgotten about Uselessavitch, i know i wish i could ) and it says to me that he is specifically looking at young prem players to bring in on loan) so who could he have his eye on and who would you like to see
Afobe is being talked about but only because he was with us last year and LuaLua has been mentioned ( but has just been signed by brighton) , but who else

the other thing this says is that the club are very probably done with signing players (unless of course a really special player becomes available) .

is the johnson deal still on, will it be another loan deal with us paying most of his wages. with the glut of central midfield players do we need or want johnson at the club.

is it time to offload some overly inconsistent players ( i'm looking at you Arfield and Joey G )

should we be looking to blood some of our own youngsters more

will this blinking rain ever stop

questions, questions questions

i think this your could be a big year for Novak and he may surprise his critics. if he can stay fit and get some game time i think hes going to have a big impact on the field

======================

MNT,

Pray tell me what I must be missing? I see Novak. I saa a bellow that people loves because he works his socks off. BUT.......

I'm lost to think of any more qualities. He couldn't head his cap. He's not especially quick, he's not especially strong, he's no dribbler and has no tricks, he's got no vision and is not a great passer of the ball.

Lee Novak is OK but at this level he's not gonna make a difference and that's what we want. WE WANT PLAYERS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE,

Lee Novak will never, ever make a difference at this level. Not a cat in hell's chance.

what i see in Novak isnt just that fact hes a grafter , its that desire to improve and the desire to succeed.

lets not forget hes only really had 1 full season of div 1 football, which was the 09/10 season ( he scored 14 goals) and before that was playing non league
he spent quite a lot of last year injured , he only made 13 starts. ( he did get 5 goals , all in the league)

i think with some work and experience he has great potential

Well MNT, now I'm really, really convinced.

so who would you put up front Cryer...
becuase you know a football manager can just pick any player he wants from anywhere and make them come to the club

We've missed the boat MNT.

If ee were gonna get one it would have been sorted by now.

Looks like Dean Hoyle has told Clark to get on with 'his signings' and he's saving his dosh for the new manager in the January transfer window.

well Cryer thats an interesting statement ...but how about answering the question

you believe you have all the answers but yet you dont give any

I thought I said we've missed the boat.

All the best available have been tapped up. I would have liked us to be bidding for the likes of Nugent who was out of contract. Marlon Harewood was also released by Blackpool. This is the type of player that Dean Hoyle should looking to bring, but I reckon he thinks he's had his fingers burned far too much by Lee Clark to be replacing his original signings.

Lord knows why we have Novak & Cademateri on the books. They aren't gonna take us to the land of plenty
