Apologies if this has been mentioned before - just in case it was missed
Taken from James Pearce's article in the Liverpool Echo....
"Sahin, who cost the Reds around 2 million euros (£1.6million) in a loan fee to Madrid, has no regrets...."
"Sahin is unlikely to remain at Anfield beyond next May as Madrid still see him as part of their long term plans. However, if the Spanish giants do decide to sell him Liverpool will have first refusal to buy him. Asked about the prospect of staying with the Reds on a permanent basis, Sahin said: “In football you never know."
Paints a completely different picture on the deal than originally thought.
Some interesting info on Sahin deal..

Who cares how much he cost.
As a fan I've lost nothing and get to see Sahin in a Liverpool shirt next year. Arsenal fans have also seen nothing but don't get to watch Sahin next year.
So why all the aggro about money? Bitterness.

Your right, he might be the bargain of the century.
Just previous folks, think fans make stuff up from ITK or twitter, and the Liverpool ECHO breeds accuracy. Its always good to have all the info before making assumptions.

I don't care how much he cost.
We cut our wage bill this summer by shifting high earners like Maxi, Kuyt, Bellamy, Aquilani, so its not going to bankrupt us.
BR has said all along he agrees to pay what he thinks a player is worth and no more.
Sometimes you lose (Sigurdsson), sometimes you win (Sahin).
The ECHO is a far more credible source than Goal.com or Metro or wherever, but even if they are right and it costs us £7m, if he does the business then who cares?
Players are ultimately judged on their performance, not how much they cost.
The cost can affect that judgement as it creates expectations, but so does things like being Bundesliga player of the year, or coming from Real Madrid and they have no monetary value.
Cost is no more important than anything else, they are all second to how well the player does in his time at Liverpool.
Does well - Money well spent.
Does badly - Waste of money.

Such bastions of integrity, you should buy shares in them with all that money you're getting from the Nigerian lottery.

Really? crunchsports.com?? Goal.com?? and Vitalfootball??
I don't expect you to have any understanding or appreciation of the Liverpool Echo (why would you), but it's widely known that Liverpool Echo journos have better access and contacts at LFC and EFC than any other press/media outlet (inc BBC)
And as for the Metro (Sherriff) - they don't even produce thier own content - pure copy and paste job.
