Some interesting info on Sahin deal..

If he manages to get us fourth then that's peanuts. Also depends how much of the wages we are paying. At the end of the day it's hard to attract players of such quality when you're not in the CL so it looks a good deal all round.

I never thought we did pay 5mil, that was just some bitter gooners, plus I'd expect sahin to say that

It's peanuts regardless of whether we get 4th or not.

It wasn't Sahin's comment that was of interest - that's to be expected - it was the first refusal should he become available.

I've read a report that he was on £115K p.w. and that LFC were more willing - or able - than the gunners to pay a higher proportion of the wage each week. I have yet to see him play football so therefore, as always, my opinion is worthless. JimmyTheRed

Guys

How do you see your midfield shaping up with Sahin

I read an article yesterday suggesting you are likley to be going 4-3-3

>>you are likley to be going 4-3-3

everyone knew this months ago. It's the only formation he plays

Of your three front playes, do any of them stay up front, or do they all have defensive responsibilities as well?

posted on 29/8/12

the only one without defensive responsibilities is the centreforward. which is the same for virtually all formations, even in a 4-4-2 one of the strikers will drop back to help out.

it's not rocket sconce

I am just trying to figure out how you are setting up to play, this season.

I have a bet with a Liverpool fan for $100 that you will get back into the top four this season. He thinks you will not, I think you will.

In our current set-up we press from the front, regardless of the formation or who's in what position.

If you are close to the ball or the person with the ball, you press the opposition until your team has possession of the ball

I neither believe or disbelieve. I'm just wondering why all you guys will take this guy's word over whatever source the Arsenal fans are using.

I see our midfield being a lot stronger this year with good cover for injuries. The injury to Lucas will not affect us in anyway near the amount it did last year.

The clearest indication of this is that Spearing is no where near the side and hopefully out the door. Players like Henderson and Adam (if staying) are going to have to wait for an oppourtunity.

Plus BR seems to like Jonjo who I am a big fan of.

Good competition.

Why is the OP's source any better than those claiming you're paying £4m-5m loan fee? Seems a choice of seeing or believing what you want to.

It is certanly goiung to be interesting fitting Stevie, Allen, Lucas, Sahin, Henderson, Adam and Shelvey into a midfield three.

Do you think BR might advance Stevie into the front three. It worked well for Rafa, and I have often wondered why England did not try it, with him.
