Yes, a United supporter in peace. A Liverpool fan on another article disputed my claim that Gerrard could well end up as a striker as his career draws to a close.
I have read about such a scenario a few times and I think it was Benitez himself that muted this a few years ago.
Regardless of whether you've come across this idea of not, do you Liverpool fans think Gerrard could or should end his career as a striker? He's the best finisher at the club and hasn't got the amazing engine he once had anymore to get up and down the pitch and I see Lucas and Allen at the base of your midfield later this season.
Would you like a front 3 like this...
-----Suarez------Gerrard------Sterling-----
Gerrard as a striker.

I think he still has the legs to be one of the wide players in the front 3 but he shouldn't be a centreforward.
The only reason I can think to do it is because Buck could then play
---------------Lucas
-----Allen------------Sahin
-Gerrard------------------Suarez
-----------Centreforward
It would only be because we have 4 Starting XI quality CMs, not because it's Gerrard's future

Gerrard will end as a deep playmaker.

yes but the you said it was the exact same as Scholes which implies he wont end up in the striker role.

Sahin might not be at the club when Gerrard is ending his career.

I can not see Stevie becoming a playmaker. He just doesn't have it in him.
On a different note, I here that knucklehead Hoody has filtered you.
What did you do to upset the twonk?

He filtered me a long time ago after I showed him up. It all stemmed from his blind faith of Kenny Dalglish. He couldn't hear a bad word said about him and thus I was not a real fan etc.
I think Stevie has the deep playmaker role in him. He has a good range of passing and from deep will have the space to pull it off. He is good at breaking up play also. However I wouldn't like his attacking abilities cut short just yet.

nice idea. i would agree that gerrard certainly can't play that box to box midfield role that he used to. i always imagined him playing along side suarez almost with 2 of sahin, allen and lucas behind him. but i would also agree that he could fit in at right midfield a treat. i wouldn't agree however that he could play a deep lying play maker role a la scholes. he would loose the ball too much and is technically not as good as allen to receive the ball in tight situations.
