"Sad to say, Carra is being picked on sentiment and Stevie on past reputation. They say that Bob Paisley was ruthless when it came time to drop players and Kenny now needs to show some of that steel or he could end up paying for it with his own job."
I posted the above comment in an article in April, 2012, and sadly it proved to be prophetic. I don't envy the position of Buck who, no doubt, will be the manager who will finally have to call it a day for two of our all time legends. But it happened to Emlyn Hughes, John Barnes, Ian Rush and King Kenny himself. Nobody can last for ever and nobody is bigger than the club.
Looking forward, we are lucky to be blessded with such outstanding young talents as Lucas, Sterling, Suso and Allen who will hopefully go on to be legends of the future!
Come on you mighty Reds!!!
Prophetic words

Oh yes. Of course. Redknapp who went on to play probably no more than 10 games in the next 4 years.
Either way, at this moment in time, i think shelvey better fits the way br wants to play. Also there was a certain lucas leiva that was displaying great talent but because he was substitute to alonso and mascherano he was being slated right left and centre. He was given responsibility he stepped up.
Gerrard was given responsibility after showing talent and stepped up.
I think shelvey will do so too.
Anyway. Ive said my opinion. Slate him as much as you want. Bottom line is he will be playing regularly for us in a few years or he will bring a good transfer fee because he will be wanted by teams in the prem.

Nice way of stating an opinion.
This is a forum for conversation. Not a platform for who can shout or or be more aggressive towards a fellow fan.
Ja606 has too quickly become like the old 606 unfortunately.

Well, that’s the 64-million dollar question, isn’t it?
Is Buck going to turn Liverpool into Swansea with better players, as he hopes, or just turn us into Swansea?
How well the best players adapt is going to determine that. At the moment, neither Gerrard nor Suarez have adapted very well, but it’s early days.

Stonfacd - if my responses to you seem aggressive then i apologise as that is my intention. There seems to be too many people having a dig at Gerrard which isnt nice. We just need to give Gerrard a chance and for us to get the best out of him then he should not play much part in the Europa cup.

I agree with not abusing gerrard.
I actually think that anyone in a liverpool shirt shouldnt be abused. Criticise a performance construcively yes but abuse never.
However i think gerrard would be very useful away in some europa games suxh as anzhi and udinese and rest him at home. His experience will be invaluable.
By the way, our game against anzhi is played in moscow not their actual home ground because it doesnt meet uefas standards apparently.

A good manager plays to his player's strengths. If BR is adamant his way is the only way, then we are in for some torrid times. A good manager needs some flexibility in his team selection and the way they play. Find the opponents weakness and strengths and adapt. (i.e.3 players marking Suarez makes him frustrated)

Gerrard was largely anonymous last week

Yes, he’s struggling with Buck’s style of play, at the moment, as are most of the rest of the team (apart from Joe Allen and Sterling).
But he still put in the best pass of the match, bending it around the centre-backs to put Suarez in with a shot on goal.

unfortunately Suarez need four chances before he hits the target
