There is a wildly abused say in tennis right now: to get the monkey off your back.
Looks like with the monkey on, you must be living a truly miserable life, and carrying the weight of the whole world on your shoulders, but suddenly when the monkey has gone for good, everything turns to gold!
I, personally, don’t buy much into this monkey argument.
It took eight long years of honest and committed tennis sweat for Andy “Muzza" Murray to grind his dream of winning a slam. Why on earth should he win seven, eight, nine in a row, in the five or six odd years remaining, just because a monkey is now off? And how many slams should a monkey be worth by the way?
Has anybody ever considered that, meantime, some other player could get as well his own monkey off and become a contender, or was it Murray the only one with one of those on his back?
And finally, who is saying that the monkey's gone forever? Couldn’t it be the monkey went temporarily off and now is keen to get back to where it once belonged??
Monkey's on, Monkey off

Forget about how many slams now. It's irrelevant.
The real question is: Can Murray be the GOAT?

You are responsible if people will now be saying that Murray isn't winning more slams because of the goat on his back

Any sign of Tim Henman winning a Grand slam yet? Or have we totally given up hope on that? I have only been waiting a couple of decades
Can someone tell him you have to get in a final first to have any chance of winning one.

Good article, by the way I do believe Murray will win a lot of slams but he has a GOAT? I would rather believe Del Potro as GOAT :D
