Is whats being reported in todays papers. To hopefully amd finally bring an end to the racism row.
A minutes applause is also set to be announced to reduce any possible disturbances with a minutes silence.
Also SAF is rumoured to be laying a wreath on the pitch prior to kick off in a bid to difuse any possible tensions. I would welcome that.

I wouldn't shake his hand.

If you do what youve always done you'll get what you always got.
Nice one, Taggs, you obviously enjoy the bile too much. How about this as an alternative?
A handshake, regardless of what anyone thinks of Suarez or Evra, lets get it over with. Don't boo either player on principle every time they touch the ball, how's that helping?
A wreath in front of the kop and a minutes applause acknowledging the hurt that some real people have suffered for over 20 years, and celebrating their first step towards justice.
An end to Munich chants. An acceptance that the victims chant is now perceived to be about Hillsborough (whether it actually is or not is irrelevant) and an end to that as well.
No lessening of the rivalry, just make it less poisonous.
A United win.
Not too much to ask, eh?

jlou, filth should not be chanted full stop, last week's events have no bearing on filth not being appropriate!

Totally agree.
But with a backdrop of recent events, and the need to avoid anything that might inflame both sets of fans, then it for me, would demonstrate unbelievable arrogance, if either of these players did anything other, than just shake hands, and get on with what they are paid to do, and entertain the fans.

Yes well my point is we shouldn't be chanting filth whether it's a week after Hillsborough revelations or not, the timing of it should have no bearing on it, it's always wrong no matter what the timing!!!

And yes they should shake hands and get on with it; the sillyness was played out last season, we should be able to start afresh in a new season.

Agreed.
But we are talking about that, in the context, of two profesionals, who have an obligation to act profesionally, and in no way add fuel to any potential fire, as regard their behavior, and the subsequent behavior of both sets of fans

Don't care for the arguement.
But players don't get paid to shake hands. There is no contractual obligation to shake another players hand.
So why should he shake his hand if he doesn't like him? I wouldn't.

you play the matches to the best of your ability..you play fair and you challenge/tackle as much and as strongly as is required.
if you wish to shake hands with opponents you can do at the end..
if you personally dont care for an opponent then you dont shake hands at all.. you dont abuse them on the pitch or say rude things about them off the pitch on social networks etc..
All this b=llox on twitter between players and fans is the cause of a lot of the cr-p in the papers etc..
play the game, give your opinion on games/performances but dont get personal and get on and be a "professional"..

Asking those two to shake hands is asking for trouble, they don't like eachother, so why force them to do something against their will? I've no problem with that, it's just something for the media to create a storm about.
As for a minutes silence/applause, again, this should take place on the anniversary of the tragedy as someone has rightly pointed out.
