Issues at the back?

I don't want to take the shine off an impressive attacking display for the youngsters yesterday, plenty of positives to take from last night in that respect, but we wont be playing teams of young boys calibre every week.

Has anyone else noticed since the departure of Steve Clarke the defence has been leaking goals all over the place, even last night it was the so called experienced senior players that were making the defensive errors, the youths are really showing them up.

It worries me that this could be a feature throughout the season, a lack of defensive discipline, and with us unable to score as rapidly as we are conceding in the league at this moment in time it most definitely should be addressed by the manager and coaching staff.

We play United on Sunday and they will punish us severely if we afford them such defensive lapses. With 4 league wins in the 9 months of 2012 thus far we really need to be kicking on soon and no better time against United at home on Sunday.

We're at home SH so their wingers should be worrying about our fullbacks attacking, forcing them deeper. That's the way it should be at home, whilst the midfield cover the fullbacks.

TOOR - i agree and hope it is the case.

I worry that we are a bit naive at times and only |Allen does that covering from midfield?

I do hope the paly Evra because he will not be able to resist getting forward and Sterling (if on the right) could make a mess of him if he's cuaght out of position. I hope they start with scholes and Giggs too as think our 3 man midfield can keep the ball well and tire them early.

Im shocked too, i thought he was injured but looks like BR just wasnt playing him. He settled very well early after his transfer but looked very poor last night.

Gerrard will play a bit deeper to help Allen cut out United attacks. My main concern is right footed Johnson vs right footed Valencia. He'll attack Johnson weaker foot as hell but can Johnson handle it?

He was actually injured and has been getting fit. He looks really awful ATM though

I don't think he was injured and it's no secret that BR was looking for a LB.

It seems to me that BR simply won't start ANY of KD's transfers unless he has absolutely no choice.

Enrique is not the best footballer and is utterly one footed.

Johnson can handle Valencia though and if I were Utd I'd be more concerned about Johnson and Sterling going up against Rafael. Works both ways!

Enrique was DEFINITELY injured and has played in the Euro games to get back to match fitness.

No secret BR was looking for a left back? Well it was to me, first I've heard of it.

Also to say BR doesn't want to start Kenny's signings is ridiculous. He starts Suarez every game. Firstly you have to be a good player and secondly you have to play well. None have done that so far apart from Suarez and Henderson's one game last night.

TOOR, apparently several clubs claimed they were offered players, Fulham I believe it was claimed Enrique was one of 4 players they were offered in exchange for Dempsey.

First I heard of that. Must have been one of those ridiculous rumour sites like Metro or something.

Spot on about players being offered. Henderson was offered as a makeweight as well to Fulham.

It almost seems like stubbourness about KD's first team signings.

Adam - gone. Carroll - gone. Downing - dropped. Henderson - dropped and offered as makeweight. Enrique - dropped and offered as makeweight.

I'll get good money that Johnson stays at LB until jan, that Downing is gone next summer.

The only one he plays is Suarez, probably because he is very good at football and because he has to.
