Was anyone at the match? I've been told by a friend that a fan took a fall of the top tier of the stand! Is he ok or is this just one of those stupid rumours?

But like MT says, it's a long time since anybody got overly-excited enough to fall at the reebok.

Sleep well.
I tried smooching but he was having none of it. The rejection would usually hurt but the rare saturday night feeling of being a victor will see me through.

"shallow metal bars" sounds a lot like what he fell over.
It's standard practice at Hillsborough - the opposition score and their fans crowd towards the north stand to give the usual gestures to our hardcore. This is what happened today, one guy leaned too far and fell.
I don't get why this is hard to grasp. most of the home fans will have seen him fall as will the rest of the swarm of goading trotters.
Nothing to do with the quality of safety, more the size of his belly.

I came on here to enquire after the health of your supporter who fell from the top tier today and was dismayed to see the tone this thread was taking.
I was surprised, putting it mildly, to read that Bring Back Sturridge feels that Sheffield Wednesday fans "haven't suffered one iota in regards to 1989 or even today."
I can assure you Mr BBS, that as someone who was there in 1989, I certainly have suffered more than one iota. I don't compare my suffering to the relatives of the 96, but please don't tell me I never felt anything.

Fair enough. My apologies.

Accepted. Hope your fellow supporter is ok. I can assure you, some of us were concerned. He sat at the back of the bottom tier for ages with the paramedics and ended up with a bandage on his wrist

If what erno says is true, I imagine the embarrassment of gloating followed by a steep fall will be much worse than the physical injury.
Off to bed, good luck to you wendies for the season.
