For me that remains the most balanced team City have fielded in an away game under Mancini.I know to some it was a once off but the way City soaked up united's early pressure and was accurate in attack was masterful.
Aguero and Mario offer balance up front. Two different players who importantly are in sync with City's main and only playmaker David Silva.Silva likes intelligent movement and people who are prepared to receive the ball early. For intelligent movement see Suarez and Borini at Anfield against united.
Sadly those 2 aren't great finishers but Aguero and Mario are. Tevez is a one man wrecking ball and unless Mancini builds his team around him of which he doesnt want to,I doubt he will bring much joy.Dzeko is a nice guy but he is PASSSIVE.He offers the defenders nothing they dont already know and him scoring goals wont change the fact that he does not take City's game going forward.
Look at all the best attackers that have led title winning teams to more silver ware, one or 2 of their players must have bite, an edge. Im a big fan of the mid ninties united team of Ince,Keano,Cantona,Giggs & Hughes. That team had skill, bite and unpredictability.Uniteds best team under Fergie. The treble winners were just fortunate in my opinion.Same with Arsenal with Anelka,Henry,Viera,Ljundberg,Bergkemp.
To beat the best defenders or best defensively set up teams you need variety, take them out of their comfort zones.Do things they didnt practice on the training ground and you pull them out of shape.
Teams are set up defensively against City now and the team will labour to get 3 points in most away games if they employ the tippy tappy players around the box(Nasri,Aguero,Tevez & Silva)
It will work in europe definitely but in the premiership its predictable and can be nullified.
Im not sure if milner is still out injured but for all his lack of technical ability Milner is very effective as he showed in that game at Old Trafford and he balances Silva better than Nasri.
Nasri is too inconsistent & is not a playmaker and was never one at Arsenal .He is better at receiving the ball close to the box than giving it and requires players to play very close to him.
I know some will point to Mario's lack of goals this season but if he does start against Villa with Silva behind him i wouldn't be surprised to see him score goals.
I still think there is no shame in drawing with this Arsenal side with probably the buy of the season in Santi, however there is a lack of spark and edge in City's game at the moment and Mancini needs to address it fast.
That 1-6 line up at Old Trafford!

Pretty much agree with all of this. I like Nasri, and I think he's been better than Silva for at least the past 15 or 20 games, but you can't play them both together (especially away from home).
Tevez is a fantastic player but I think the team generally plays better without him. Picking a team is about finding a balance, not selecting your eleven 'best' players. I don't think it was any coincidence that we were at our best last season when he wasn't in the side. Yes, he gave us a massive lift towards the end of the season, but that was just a snapshot of the season at a time when we needed shaking up.

So what you're saying is, at least for the way City play; Milner is better than Nasri x
