Patrice Evra wants Manchester United fans to remember they have Wayne Rooney as well as Robin van Persie up-front.
"Robin's an amazing player and that's good but people mustn't forget what Wayne Rooney has done for this club," says Evra. "He's a big, massive player and looked really sharp last night.
"When someone new comes, everyone is excited and forgets the old things. But Wazza will show it to everyone."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I do agree with Evra but if i was Robin i would not be very pleased with this quote.
Just imagine u come to a new team and straight away start to perform, then another star player comes back from injury and the captain/vice captain of the team says that people are forgetting abt the old player's performances because of a handfull of performances by the new player
Does not feel right!
just totally totally unnecessary
Thoughts!
Bizzare quote!!!

What is wrong with what Evra said?

He din't say anything wrong.
Its just that there was no need for these statements.
I m sure it wasn't Rooney who asked him to say those things..then why???
M sure SAF would not approve of this..

Yes if he said it on his own then its probably not right. But if someone asked him a question like - "Do you think Robin's arrival and his early success with goals have highlighted the fact that Rooney has not been in top form this season?" then it doesn't look very bad.

Replace RVP with Buttner and Rooney with Evra in his statement. I think this is what he really wanted to say.

Evra needs to stop being such a rent a quote and start playing well. He's absolute garbage ATM so shouldn't be saying anything.

I really don't see what he's said that's so wrong. Yesterday all the commentators were making big issues out of him not scoring yet, while Van Persie has been banging them in for fun. Evras quote is just them in their place!

Rooney is a big massive player. Is that Evra calling Rooney fat? Jeez it took him long enough to realise that.

Where did Evra get everyone forgetting what wazza has done for the club? Does he read ja606? <Yikes>, I hope he does.
Anyway I think how the statement is construed depends on who's reading,we see things differently, as all the comments already show.
However who's to say RVP or Rooney or other team members won't read much into it. Or does Evra still see RVP as an Arsenal player and can't resist wumming him?
Hw seriously needs to grow up. I mean he's one of the oldest players in that squad.

There is nothing wrong with what he said. People need to stop finding reasons to get offended by everything

OP, what do you make of Rooney's quotes regarding Joe Hart?
