Reasons behind OS Decision Delay?

I can understand the frustration being felt by WHU fans over the constant delays re the decision on who is going to occupy the OS.

Is it really due to the cost of retractable seating & who is going to pay for these? Or is it how the OS is going to be best utilised over the next however many years? Or is it because LLDC have decided selling outright might get the elephant out of the room?

Well it could well be any or all of these factors, however I was at a function yesterday with a number of people involved in both politics and sport and I overheard a conversation which certainly set my mind going.

The gist of it was that there was talks going on to push GB to bid for the 2024 Games, this was because it is felt that a lot of countries who had not hosted the Games might not be able to bear the financial burden.

It was also suggested that as London was possibly the most successfully run Games in the past 60 years, that we should host again. The IOC were extremely impressed with the way the Games were run & how efficient everything was.

Now this is not as far fetched or as outrageous as it might sound. The United States hosted two games, 1984 Los Angeles & 1996 Atlanta, 12 years apart which would be exactly the same gap for GB.

Now whether this is a flight of fancy or a genuine possibility I have no way of knowing. However the individuals discussing this seemed to be very knowledgeable about this, so who knows.

Whatever is going on, I think LLDC should tell all concerned as soon as possible!

Greaves

I was responding to RDBD who was talking about the size of ENIC's portfolio when I always believed ENIC sold off most if not all if it when it purchased Spurs.

What are.........................Enic had to relinquish certain holdings such as Glasgow Rangers etc to comply with both FA & Uefa regulations on club ownership.

If you click on this link it will show how transparent Spurs are as a Company.

That is actually interesting, the bit that caught my eye was the fact that the Champions league brought in an extra £37m, but operating costs mainly it says due to Champions League participation increased by £34m!

That can't be right surely? An extra £3m is no golden goose. Did I misread it? I really can't get my head around that.

French ones?

No - a lot more local than France. A new vineyard somewhere in north London.
