Yeah I went last night, wish I hadn't bothered though, I was long gone before we got our "consolation" though, I didn't last long past half time! That match last night will tell you nothing at all about anything that will take place this season. I knew in advance it was a development squad, but why? Why didn't we play a first team seeing as that's the closest pre-season match for Town fans?

That was my point Cas in effect it was £6 to watch the academy which is quite expensive really. I did like the look of Field, Crooks (here I go again) & I thought Atkinson was the best performer for Town

I had nothing better to do and my grandad lives around the corner so got a free meal before hand . Atkinson and Crooks were obviously the standouts, but more because they were less awful than everyone else. I've championed Atkinson for a while but he needs a loan to play competitive football, Lee Clark was wrong to keep him at the club last season IMO. As for Crooks, he looks clumsy to me for some reason, and looks very tired a lot of the time depsite still running around. I'm sure it's just me but he looks awkward as a footballer whilst performing decently?

As for the cost, it was ridiculous. We should be helping teams like Emley, Frickley and Sheffield FC by making sure they get big gates - I could care less about Wrexham or Scottish teams. If we announced in advance we'd be playing the first team they could get 3,000+ crowds up there which would be awesome for them, as well as for the Town fans to get a cheap match where they can see the new signings. It wouldn't be difficult to arrange the friendlies so we can play the first team twice against local opposition who would benefit greatly from the income it would provide.

First team will play at Fleetwood tonight, which is more cost for travelling fans who went last night and went to Scotland.

Think Rotherham will have to be a must now though to finally see the new lads

I know what you mean about Crooks he appears very lethargic and tired but is quick and very deceptive I like him.
