Good start to the season for Spurs,

and another hard fought 3 points won away form home again yesterday.

Spurs are where we need to be in 4th, and still with nearly half the team missing through injury. Despite the top three teams all apparently being better than Barca, Spurs do find themselves within 4 or 5 points of all three. Five wins out of six, including win at Old Trafford should not be be sniffed at. So really, really good.

The only downside as far as I can see is AVBs refusal to play Lloris, who will surely leave as quickly as he came. He is not going to sit on the bench, watching a 41 year old concede in every game, and seeing his intenational place in jeopardy. He is as good as gone in my book. Also Ade will start kicking off soon, nothing unusual there, but seems a shame to waste such a talent.

Chronic - Look at the goal that Bale scored against the Scots for Wales he got the ball in the inside left position drove forward and smashed the ball into the net.

Our players need to be adaptable in their movement and passing to break teams down.

yeah that was when play was broken up.

see what i said earlier.

however i dont think you should set up with bale in cm.. as for one thing, he isnt good enough defensively to do what dembele does.

Chronic - Henry started off as a winger then he became a prolific striker a bit like Loic Remy could offer us and Bale may be good enough to play Left Wing, Left Back, Centre Midfield or even Striker.

He should be good enough defensively at CM as he started off at left back ?

He is currently one of our top scorers at WHL.

yes he is one of our top scorers.. and most dangerous players.. so why would you want to move him to a position where he is less advanced? dembele plays next to sandro as a pure cm!

Chronic - Let me pose a question if Bale eventually goes to Real Madrid where do you think they will play him ?

"left back", but he will play like marcelo and just be a winger.

plus marcelo is class, so cant see them going after bale any time soon.

Bale appears to be a Home boy so he may even stay at WHL like Gerrard at Liverpool especially when we build the new stadium and we progress as a team.

I think the difference between Gerrard & Bale is that Gerrard is a scouser through & through, has played at Liverpool since day dot, and a Liverpool side who have been challenging for honours since he broke into the first team. Bale is a Welshman, brought through Southampton's ranks & plays for Spurs.

Chicken - I live in South Wales and the Spurs Scout who monitored Bale as a School Boy was a personal friend until he passed away about 18 months ago.

The thought on Bale back then was that he was not going to strong enough as we were keen to sign him so he went to Southampton.

Essentially the point I am making is that Bale was always on our radar that is why we moved quickly to get him from Southampton at a bargain £5M.

Regardless of that, i doubt Tottenham holds a big place in Bale's heart, neither have Spurs competed at the top for the duration of his career.

Gerrard has Liverpool blood, Bale's loyalty to us is purely because he's on our payrole.
