Venky's/Kean Statement

I don't see how anyone can argue that on the face of it our transfer activity this summer has looked worrying to say the least. Selling our best player for about £10m less than he's worth, looking far more likely to pick up bargain basement players and resign ones who spent last season warming the bench, looking less likely by the day to spend the £10m promised by Venkys plus the £16m made on Jones.

I accept the point that people are maybe jumping the gun with extremely harsh criticism considering the transfer window isn't yet closed and we could suddenly start signing players of quality. But can't blame the fans for getting worried about what we've seen (nothing) and heard (a multitude of bizarre rumours) so far.

I only post here, I'm sure there's idiots out there, unfortunately the way of the world. It did feel like you were tarring us all with the same brush.

The chicken jokes on here are usually just that, nothing to fly off the handle or cry fowl about. If they'd been SA farmers, Oz, whomever I think the jokes are jokes. It's their actions that are worrying. Even when they talked of an academy in Prune I think their was little rumbling on here and 606!

Anyway, variety is the spice of life, curry on debating...

Some people (venky's/kean) need to take their heads out the sand and smell the coffee.

Kean cannot attract players and Venkys won't bankroll the club- a recipe for relegation. Make no mistake the rest of the players will be contacting their agents to put the feelers out.

Not for the reasons Vinjay spouts but it has to be said the Walker Trust has seriously let down the fans/club/town/Jack Walker for selling out to these chaps.

Although I have always been against a 'marquee' signing I think we seriously need to generate a bit of feelgood factor very quickly.

No I meant Junior - offered but not signed, is that because of a normal pause to consider, waiting to see the ambitions of the club or because the amount offered is too poultry (that one allowed?). Its this kind of thing that is worrying - b&wh - as ever a good summary. The anger early is because it didn't happen last window despite extravagant promises so why should we believe any of it now?

kalinic is on the plane for asia tour and does that mean junior & olsson will be leaving anytime soon with there contract issues i hope not

Yep, you have to wonder what went on there.

They'd had offers before and refused. Apparently part of the legacy was to ensure future stability as JW would have wanted.

Were they seriously conned or just got fed up of idiots suggestions and sold to the next bidder above £xm.

Shouldn't they 'wake up' and smell the coffee? I've just put my head in the sand to test your theory and when I took it out I couldn't smell the coffee. I admit this will be hard because I've run out of coffee, but I was hoping to smell some because I believed what you said. Please think before offering advice like this in future.
