What on earth has gone on with Vermaelen? my goodness I have always thought he was sometimes a liability in terms of his style of defending and more than often is the cause of majority of the goals we concede but the guy is having pretty much a crisis now. Everything he does defensively is a disaster waiting to happen, and the way Farfan just tore him to pieces with ease was just painful to watch. I think Wenger needs to do him a favour by pulling out of the starting line up for a while.

Unsure at CB. Hopeless at LB last night.

Vermaelen has always been gash. The fact he scores goals blinds people to his defensive frailties.
He's a good leader but a poor defender.

Torres makes a fool out of Vidic every time he plays against him. Guess Vidic is an awful defender too?

That's not true. Vidic has had a couple of bad games against Torres but has had more good games against him. Scouse exaggeration has hyped this non story to astronomical levels.
Vidic most of the time is excellent, the same can't be said for Vermaelen. Even his manager makes him play as a fullback because he doubts his abilities.
Koscielny is actually better than him
