My team v Arsenal

Andre Villas-Chronic here.

Here is my team, line up and tactics.

--------------------- Lloris------------------

--Walker-----Gallas---------Caulker-------Vertonghen

-----------Sandro------------Siggy---------------------

Lennon------------Ade--------------------------Bale

-------------------Defoe---------------------

if walker lennon and defoe dont make it... then bring in hudd for defoe, pushing siggy up to play behind ade. naughton for walker. townsend for lennon. like for like is the name of the game.

The reason for my questionable selections are as follows.

1. Lloris - better goalkeeper than Friedel. proved in the spain v france game recently that he is a big game player. The keeper will be busy, and i have more confidence of Lloris saving shot after shot, than Friedel

2. Walker. He has been simply terrible, but up against jenkinson I think he could get some joy if he remembers to attack.

3. Gallas. Dont care what anyone says, he has simply been our best defender this season. he has had to cover walkers mistakes every game, and is holding the back 4 "together" with glue. he is also the only proper winner we have in the side. Has to play in the NLD.

4. Siggy. Hudd aint doing the busines, sadly... Need energy in midfield and siggy provides more legs than Hudd.

5. Ade and Defoe.... need to play both BUT cannot be 4-4-2. ade has to be the link man and contribute to our defensive shape.

tactics.

defensively....

sandro sits on cazorla. man mark job. all game. ade needs to drop onto arteta to slow down the supply, and wilshere who surely will not last the pace of the game, to be matched by siggy as best he can. defend fairly deep. vertonghen must NOT allow walcott a run on him, meaning that he has to defend properly for a change... do not let him wonder into the box... and get out to him and close down crosses. same applies to walker on his wing.

do NOT bring all 11 back to defend corners... leave defoe and lennon up... with bale on the edge of the box ready to break.

caulker picks up mertesacker. gallas on giroud, and vertonghen on vermaelen.

when we have the ball, the tactic is simply to supply bale and lennon, isolated one on one and let them take on their man. i am happy for the fullback to overlap, but only one should go at a time, with the other sitting tight.

for the first time ever, i actually think that we are dangerous from attacking set plays, so sent up all big men for corners.

Bale is at his most effective on the flanks, but I think he is capable of playing behind a centre forward but only if he has a more solid midfield behind him.

To be fair, i dont think Devonshire claimed they would boss every midfield, just ours if it consists of Huds, Sempsey & Sandro.

IMO 4-4-2 go there to attack them and to win its the last thing on earth they will expect if they have watched us at all this season
