Why do people call Chelsea glory hunting plastics when most Chelsea fans live in London and not Manchester, Liverpool etc????
If you are from London, you can choose whoever you want.
This is not the 1960s where there is a London divide. Top up your oyster card and its a 12 mile 30minute trip from Mile End Station (East London) - Fulham Broadway on the District Line.
I'm sure there are areas in Manchester and Newcastle where a fan actually lives further from the ground than some Chelsea fans from other parts of London do from Stamford Bridge. Yet they are probably considered loyal fans and Chelsea fans plastic.
If you are born in London, you have the right to select whichever team you want without being called a glory hunter

I dunno RED, it was Bootham Cresent when I went there in the 70s.
We played them twice there in under a month - once in the FA Cup and once in an old Div two clash.
To be honest, with the sands of time I don't remember that much about the place now except the pub we went to and the away end was open topped!

Red666, I remember going there in the '80's. Can't remember too much about it except it was a two legged league cup game, I seem to remember we lost there 1-0 but beat them back at home I think to go through.

Bootham cresent, yeah open topped for away fans, but the pitch surface was highly rated, i was there in 95/96 when tey turned us over in the league cup.

69, just been into the match database on the Club website and there are no entries recorded for any of those York games!

I think I've found it Brummie. As I say I really don't remember too much about it apart from the open end you mentioned, Dixon and co were playing and I think York had purple type shirts with a big white Y.

I thnk those were the ones I went to that season 69, I don't remember the league cup game and I'd joined the Navy by the time we played them again in the 86/87 season.
I seem to remember the FA Cup game and away league game being closer together than that - funny how time distorts things

You can say that again Brum, the only other things that I can remember about that game was that it was a sunny evening game. Other than that I might as well been in a coma, for what I actually remember about that game. I just know I had to go there as I was collecting grounds at the time and I hadn't been there.
