Favourite past and present cricketers

Since this site is deader than a dodo...Thought best i try and liven the joint up..

So who are your current favourites or players of bygone days?..

Has an english fan..my memories only go far as back as the mid 90s.. I always liked Thorpe and Trescothick batting.. The partnership at the oval between these two players against SA was supreme..
Alan Donald was deadly when it came to fast bowling.. ( i wont credit aussies bowlers or batters)

Currently Cook//KP/Prior/Swann/Anderson..

No arguements from me....(Sachin is Great)

But like most things in life, most won't acknowledge the fact until well down the track, and records speak for themselves besides the class of the man...

Sorry Lion, but one spell doesn't make a summer.

Warne. Absolute genius bowler who outfoxed and out-thought batsmen. I know he played under Ponting but the impression I get from a lot of reports is that Warne was involved in quite a lot of the captaincy decisions and was a natural captain as well.

This clip is epic:

it's a shame warne didnt get to captain australia.

australia had a sequence of truly great captains, and warne im sure would have extended that list after waugh.

Bringing on Steven Gerrard is the footballing equivalent of seeing Steve Waugh march to the crease with your team 20-4. You know the fightback begins here.

If I ever met Ricky Ponting, I would smile and say "Gary Pratt" to him.

I don't think Ricky would lower himself to be in your company to begin with....
