Wow, what a complete pr!ck, I expect him to be banned Admins.

Anyway, not sure whether the truth will come out while a Tory government is in charge, I can see a lot of delays and appeals going on for months possibly years. Here's hoping I'm wrong.

Don't think there was any doubt that user was not staying on the site. Please don't requote when responding as the less we need to read it the better. Such comments are no doubt not only wholly unacceptable but also most probably illegal.

Thanks Admin1, that's honestly the worst comment I've come across on here, I'd have been just as horrified if it had been about Utd. Some people eh?

I think it will be more interesting than useful.

I think it will be a very interesting insight into the Thatcher Govt's attitude towards football fans in general and Northern football fans especially.

The previous European Championships in Germany had seen a whole load of hooliganism, There were economic pressures, terrorism etc and Scargill was back in charge of the Mineworkers Union. It was a pretty volatile time and a particularly dodgy time for the Tories - they couldn't afford to look weak or be accused of presiding over a totally incompetent police force.

The North West has never been a Tory stronghold anyway, so I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if they were happy to sweep it under the carpet.

The only hope of justice is if it transpires that the cabinet was given a different version of events than the public, which I don't believe to be unlikely.

We'll see. Though I'm not a fan of the Tories in any way at all, I would be surprised if a supposedly "progressive" Cameron-led govt would attempt to surpress this. I imagine that whatever it contains will be viewed as the sins of an older and different party.
