According to newspaper reports ->1), Alan Ferguson is looking to buy Sven Bender and prefers him over Strootman. What do you think about this?
I don't know Strootman, but Sven Bender is a good player - not great, but only 23 years old, he can defend and is not too bad on the ball. And he is only kept out of the German national team by his twin brother because Loew doesn't need two identical players in the squad.

Sven Bender of Dortmund or Strootman?

Sir Alex's attributes include man motivation, that siege mentality, getting the best out of players who on paper aren't as good as their opponents, getting the right balance between youth and oldies, knowing the league, having that fear factor with his players and that hunger to win year after year.
That is impossible to replicate but someone as close to that as possible would be awesome.

ive watched a documentary on dortmund, and they say that klopp is a fantastic motivator, who is not afraid to 'throw a few teacups' shall we say,

Not at all.

I think ego will be important for whoever takes over from SAF. They need to be convinced that they will succeed.
Ego, or and overwhelming drive to succeed.
