if only - we've already won as many matches this season as we did all last season. That's how we are going to stay up.
We had a run of three bad matches over Xmas, but apart from those (cup matches don't count) we haven't played badly of late. We only missed out on three points against Swansea last thing, and today fate and Benteke's shooting was against us.
I think QPR are sunk. In spite of Reading winning today I think they are too. Southampton in spite of winning today aren't very good. Wigan are struggling. So are Newcastle. I think we can improve, and I think we can get results. It's going to be a battle, but I think we can do better than at least three of those around us, which at the end of the season is what counts.

Far too optimistic MCP.

Poor, poor Villa. Losing is becoming so boring now.
I've pretty much given up hope. We've been rubbish for years and we deserve to go down. I love the club but we have brought this all on ourselves.
If we do somehow stay up it will be a miracle. We're playing dire football and we're so much worse than all the teams around us including QPR. There's no point in sacking Lambert because no one could manage Villa effectively under Lerner.
Such a shame to see the decline of a once decent football club. Relegation will be horrible but we're just not good enough for the Premier League.

How ironic if Forest get promoted with Mcleish and Villa are relegated.

When decisions start going against you as they did today it is a sign that you are doomed. I predicted Villa for a shock big club relegation last season, but you avoided it, this season I thought you'd do better with lambert in charge - his ineptitude has surprised me. You need some experienced heads in that squad if you're gonna get out of this - spurs are looking to get rid of gallas - he's slow but he's the kind of experienced leader you should be looking to bring in if you've any hope of surviving.
I think you'll go this year, which is a shame as its a good club, but it could be what you need - a year in the championship for your younger player to gain experience, Lambert knows how to get out of that league and as Newcastle proved last season it's possible to come back stronger.

I remember on the old 606,when some Villa fans reckoned Moyes was going ditch Everton for them. I had a running battle with some of you lot, and I couldn't stand your club, but I feel sorry for you now,as I know what you're going through, and how you're feeling.

What was it O'Leary said, fickle fans? When in this position, stop moaning and fight. Results aren't about predictions or fixations about who's good enough and who isn't. It's about what actually happens on the pitch. Where we'll be at the end of the season is what matters, and there's some way to go yet. Yes, 3 points today would have been good, and we'd have moved up to 15th, with a useful gap between us and the bottom 3. But it's only one result. There are a lot more results between now and the end of the season, not only for us, but for other teams in the mire. We are not down yet be a long way.
