If Arsenal lose on Wednesday, they will almost certainly not win a trophy this year. That makes 8 years.
To me, this squad is nowhere near competing for anything, yet Wenger is refusing to buy during this window. Even top 4 looks like a close call, with both Everton and Spurs currently above Arsenal.
The question is, if Arsenal finish outside of the Top 4 this season, should Wenger go?
His current contract runs until summer of 2014, but I firmly believe he should be moved on this summer rather than waiting for next, and he should leave immediately after the final kick of the season.
The reason is: The 2014 World Cup. If Arsene leaves after next season, the players are away. Anyone new coming in has restricted time to get to know the squad, and to identify and bring in targets. He starts with a fatigued squad he doesn't know, and a few rushed transfers.
If Wenger goes this summer, anyone new coming in has the whole summer to identify problems, bring in their team, with new coaches and new ideas, and conduct their transfer dealings. All round, I think it's a better plan.
Thoughts?
When to go?

He's mentioned the contract plenty of times, but what Wenger says isn't always gospel. I still think he'll stay, no matter what, but he does have it in him to quit, if it's the best for the club.

Has there been any news on Peter Hill-Wood's state of health recently?
He needs to step down for the good of both himself and the club. Replace him with Dein and let Arsene manage the team again, (not the whole club) and we might just start to see the old Arsene again.

Wenger never ever gets a sack. He makes millions and millions for the board year after year with his "top4 finish" trophy.

Dein has too many enemies in the board for him to come back. That shipped has sailed.

Most of Dein's foes have gone now though I think, Serial.
Actually thinking about it... who is still on the Arsenal board from the days Dein was there? 'Chips', PHW..?

Dein is the yayaCanamelo of the boardroom...
the holy grail.
dont see it happening though.

I still think all talk of manager changes is all ultimately pointless unless the situation between Kroenke and Usmanov is resolved. For the sak eof the club, these two have to come to an amicable resolution. If not, whatever manager, including Wenger, will forever be firefighting.
