No disrespect to Verm but Jack is our leader, he drives us foward, he's always 100% committed. I don't care if he's still a young man, he should be our captain now. Just a pure leader and you can't buy that, what a player, just love watching the guy. He's our real captain.

Captain's have to be a bit hot-headed. Cesc was our best captain in recent times and he was a bit of a too.

Give it to him ASAP

Vieira, Fabregas, Van Persie - all of them were twáts of varying degrees. It can - and has - work(ed) favourably in terms of on-field leadership.

herbie - i think jack will be a great capt for us in time and agree we've not had the best capt's recently but don't want to pass the jinx on to jack just yet as he's the best thing at our club right now

Yeah, I'm not really committing to either side of the argument, just playing devils advocate and putting a few things out there as to why I could understand giving it to him - even now. That said, I'm not overly concerned and massively invested in that thinking.

herbie - just think capt on him being young and english could bring so much negative attention at some point that it would be counter-productive

Wilshere doesn't feel any pressure the captaincy wouldn't bother him. He's our most consistent player as well, hardly ever has a bad game. 10/11 season he probably had 1 or 2 bad games, when he was 18/19.

8bit - he may not feel pressure but the english press love to build a player, then knock him down - why risk more exposure?

Captaincy for a 21-year old? It adds nothing but pressure.

Zin, I hear what you're saying and like I say I'm not particularly invested in the idea of him being made captain at this point, I'm just not entirely against the idea either.
