Hi folks
Apologies for being a little late this time, believe it or not I actually had some work to do. Anyhow, its sink or swim time, only the strongest will survive, dial a cliche stage, as ever its 2 points for the correct outcome, 1 for being within +/- 5 points or less, 1 for being the closest poster then 3 bonus points for all 12 outcomes, 2 for 9-11 and 1 for 6-8
Friday
Biarritz v Harlequins
Basically will Biarritz be interested and how keen will Harlequins be on number one seeding. Personally I think Biarritz might target the Amlin as they have little else to play for and will care enough to edge it
SARS - Biarritz by 4
Connacht v Zebre
As dead a game as there can ever be, but simply Connacht are the better side
SARS - Connacht by 10
Saturday
Cardiff Blues v Sale
As per Connacht - Zebre, a nothing game between two struggling sides, though Cardiff showed a little against Toulon last week
SARS - Cardiff by 10
Castres v Ulster
A little big-game in a week of big-big-games perhaps. Ulster need a win for a home quarter but have never won in France, Castres have an outside shot of an Amlin spot in a season of little other joy and I think this might just be enough
SARS - Castres by 4
Exeter v Leinster
The first big-big game, can the reigning double champions do it? With Kearney & O'Driscoll back they're looking good, but Exeter will be well up for this. I think Leinster will win it, but I don't see them getting a bonus point - nor Munster to be fair
SARS - Leinster by 6
Glasgow v Northampton
Nothing more than pride to play for, Glasgow are no mugs and I do wonder whether this one will be postponed, given teh condiitons I just think the Warriors might edge it
SARS - Glasgow by 4
Montpellier v Toulon
Irish eyes will be firmly shut praying for Toulon, but I think Montpellier have enough will and skill to edge this at home
SARS - Montpellier by 7
Scarlets v Clermont Auvergne
Clermont to do the clean sweep - if it goes ahead
SARS - Clermont by 10
Sunday, 20 January 2013
Leicester v Toulouse
The tie of the round with around a third of all H-Cups being by one or the other, though both are off their game a little at present, but I think Toulouse have fallen that little bit further
SARS - Leicester by 4
Munster v Racing Metro 92
Will Racing care, will Munster have enough. I think they will, but not for the bonus point and I just think Leinster might edge them overall
SARS - Munster by 6
Saracens v Edinburgh
If Saracens get the bonus point they have a good chance of a home quarter, depsite the weather that should be more than enough impetus
SARS - Saracens by 20
Treviso v Ospreys
Another dead game and I just think Treviso migth have enough
SARS - Treviso by 5
Sorry for the late and rather rushed version this week!

Montpellier were brilliant to be fair!

Yeah
I can't findthe squad list, but Sky are saying Racing have named a very weak squad for the Munster game
Oddly, if I were a Quins fan I'd certainly prefer Munster

Exeter are giving it a right go!

They're up for it no doubt, Clermont 24-0 up at halftime!
Interesting that a bonus point win at home to edinburgh will put Saracens at home in the quarters

Good call SARS and Sporty. really good call on the result of the Leinster game.
Leinster deserve more than to leave now but that's the way it goes sometimes.

Well fair play to Munster. they did exactly what they needed to do. And of course the french were lazy and rubbish. Anyway on to the Amlin and the Pro12 this year for us. Best of luck to you guys if your teams are still in the comp. I will be supporting Ulster from here on in

Ding!
What's this I hear about your man Sexton leaving Leinster??

Ye he's courting the french. But its just what every top level player does in Ireland in order to get the best deal from the IRFU.
The french are offering 750,000
The IRFU can't aford that, not even close, but they offer other advantages.
Anyway, basically every time an Irish player's contract is up they are over in france shaking hands very publicly in order to light a fire under the bottoms of the money men in Ireland. But no player from Ireland has every signed a French contract. Its all a big game of chess. And the IRFU lose every time LOL :D

OH sporty,
I just read the official line from the IRFU.
Sexton is leaving for Racing Metro. Hell that's a surprise.
Well best of luck to him. He's gona need it!
No Player welfare program there! He will play every minuet of every game and when he's injured he will be dropped like a hot snot. He's made a mistake. But thats what the €s will do to you i guess
